The only people that get mad are the new customers Monty, and that would only be because they don't know how good your work is and for those of us who do know we also realize great things come to those who wait. We know your customer service is second to none and if you are busy we will all understand, crap happens what can we do? I know when I ordered mine there was no wait so even if I was waiting I wouldn't care. Still pretty stoked that my engine came half way around the world in about 6 days from when I placed my order

Monty,

Looking for a new engine for my buggy. Running an X5 Race with 9901 & 2096 and lovin it. Im thinking a X5RFM (w/9901) or X5LFM (w/2096) would be the next logic. What would you suggest?

I guess I'm asking what are the performance differences on the track between the X5RFM and the X5XLFM?

Does it matter if you mix and match engines and header / pipes or is it important to make sure to use the header / pipe from the engine manufacturer? I need a bottom end pipe for a Reds TE2 and not sure if I should solely focus on getting Reds pipes or try something else someone else can recommend.

There are a few pipes that work good on lots of engines and some that don't. Most pipes that come from the manufacturer have been tested to work well with that engine but that does not mean a different pipe is not as good or better. OS Speed says to run the 2090, I ran the 2058 from Orion on it and I had better run times than the 2090 and better top end. The 2096 is another pipe I have ran on my OS speed with great results. With the reds I would say the 2058 orion pipe as it has great bottom end, at least I feel it does. Monty or someone else might be able to chime in on a good bottom end Novarossi pipe but for me the 2096 seems a bit soft but that doesn't mean it is weak on bottom, as it is my new favorite pipe, so it is also a viable option, I think the 9901 is a bit harder on the bottom but not sure. hope this helps

X5L has a more punchy feel and can be a handful in buggy , X5R is more balanced for a buggy

Likd I said earlier , the fm pkg is just icing on the cake

I would suggest trying the pipe/header combo offered by the manufacturer specifically for their own engine line , this doesn't mean that there isnt something out there that might suit you better but is a good starting point
