It's funny you mention that Monty, we experienced that bog this weekend and it was really getting to me. Our tune was was really good but we kept having that little low end bog. Maybe aluminum shoes are the way to go on a high bite clay surface in truggy? Thanks for the tip! FYI, we are kicking the idea around about going to the Nitro Challenge.

Yes , in buggy the buku is no joke , if there is too much traction it can be hard for the komposite material to stay cool and keep a positive engagement without a bog in the truck.but otherwise it's spot on

I will switch to a werks clutch in the truck if there is too much traction , buku 100% in the buggy

If you have high traction and a bog in the truggy there are a couple ways to correct this. You need to put slippage in the clutch because there is a lack of tire spin do to excess traction. The motor is being over loaded. and cant pull the extra load of the truggy compared to buggy. Now when i say slippage this does not mean go and increase the spring rate on all 3 shoes. Because that's going to give you the same initial result and then the clutch is going to over heat and start slipping .What you want to do is soften the spring rate on shoe #1 (engage sooner) then increase the spring rate on shoe #2. Shoe #3 you want to also increase the spring rate but make sure its increase so there is more tension(larger ratio) between the 2nd and 3rd shoes than what you started with your base setup. In other words make the clutch more progressive by making a larger spring ratio's between all 3 shoes. You need to build some ground speed before having the torque of all 3 shoes engaging. On a side note...This is also the EXACT same thing you would want to do if you found yourself on a track that was super loose, dusty or slippery and your buggy or truggy was lacking traction and difficult to drive .

SECOND thing you can to is run lighter Komposite shoes. Less weight equals less torque delivery from the clutch.

SHORT STROKE MOTORS...I have seen cases were SS motors in truggy pull the komposite shoes fine for 4-8 minutes once the motor is fully up to race temp and chassis saturated a bog will start to develop and progressively get worse. The bottom end falls of like you are lean on button. With that case you would want to run aluminum shoes. SS design just doesnt have the bottom grunt of a LS motor and depending on the exhaust port timing/pipe header combo it just cant handle the load with Komposite shoes. Hope this helps

Thanks for the info! This clutch has been a very good addition to our race program and a very great tuning option. Top notch support too.

Monty, I am going to run the buku on my mugen for now, but I do have a question about the novarossi engines. What is the deal again with the glow plugs?, can I ron nova, and odonell? what about rd and orion? is there a difference in the 1/10 glow plugs? starting my break in of my bonitto, hopefully I will get it done by Sunday, have about a 1/2 gallon through so far.

Do you have a screen mesh or a sintered bronze element inside the housing?

GREGORY!!!!!!!, once you get the throttle to open up the exact same as Venturi, go 1 or 2 more clicks on EPA.
