even 1 is too many IMO , i reallllly dont care for any failures of any kind in the engine dept. , there are many variables , user being the most variable variable LOL, but all in all the engine should withstand some abuse .
its disheartening for myself to see failures from a company i believe is the #1 engine manufacturer/designer/innovator/leader in the industry for micromotors . i put alot into what i do when time allows and expect all to do the same
happy motorin',

Monty,
I was helping a young guy out with his Truggy (mbx6T) that was running a Buku clutch. He bought it basically prebuilt running a Keep-off 7 and 9901 pipe. He seemed to have plenty of rip coming out of the corners and the motor seemed to be tuned right but his vented clutch bell was blue from slipping / heat. Whats a good starting point for truggy as far as clutch setting? Not sure if he has heavy shoes on it or not. THe shoes looked like the normal ones and the pads looked a little dark, not the nice light brown color. Told him to clean them up with denatured and I would help him out the next time he is at the track.

AMS was awesome, I didn't do as well as I could have. But I have good excuses....
1. I had a short somewhere between my hands and remote...
2. It was the turn marshals fault...
3. Someone kept putting something in my Diet Pepsi...
All kidding aside, My Fusion X Monty Houston Tuned RC Car Engines ran flawless all weekend.

Man, rod breakages like that are really rare for Nova. Most others break like that but Novas usually only see other types of failures (bushing failures, bottom end of the rod breaking out) and only after LOTS of use, well except for some of the .12 rods I have seen snap like that but the tc guys are twisting some truly crazy rpms. If you're seeing R7 13s go like this, I think there is a problem.
Which has me worried. I think the one I just put in my 35+21 might be a 13. Will have to check, it could be a 12.

All I can say is DAMN! Punched in the numbers and it is one high geared motha. I need a 10t clutch bell
The funny thing is that with the 2080 it still held its own which after seeing the info really blows my mind it was like 37.83 final roll out and stock is 29.10. I really don't feel like ordering new ring gear and pinion gears especially I am going to be getting a new truggy in the next couple of months. I think I will try the other header and maybe go back to the other pipe for a while.
Monty can I get a .25 roma FM version
I thought the Bonitto had plenty of grunt, but running at that high of a gear ratio makes it seem a bit weak. If I am running the Losi 2 aluminum and 2 composite clutch setup, would a 3 shoe setup be better, and what springs would I want to use? I think running a buku with that high gearing would just smoke it, but I do have a couple of 3 shoe setups and a couple of 4 shoe losi's laying around, maybe go 4 aluminum on the losi would give it more bite? What header gives the most bottom end, with my gearing I am not really worried about top end

I know full well there is an issue with the "13" rod , they last for a while but start there crack right at the lower bushing oiling hole
