orion jtp vs os 21 vzb speed powerbands.

Hey. I need you orion guys honest opinion. Does the orion have a smooth powerband like the os speed vzb. Not the xzb speed. Particularly i want to knw if the jtp combo is smooth. And worth every penny.

IMO no.. The midrange has a slight rich point that cna cause some tuning issues, but keep the bottom end fairly lean, and run a hotter plug then you might have in the OS, and it pretty much goes away, but still isn't quite as smooth as the VZB. I however do feel that slight rich point hlpes put the power of the engine to the ground by keep wheel spin down.. It has its advantages....

Hi guys I was wondering....... how do you guys think the 2013 pipe would do on the jtp engine versus the 2058 that it came with? Thanks In advance!!!

It'll do like every engine that has the 2013 pipe mounted to it. It'll make a touch more bottom, and a touch less top end.. And it'll sound way meaner..

Whats the best break in procedure for the JTP edition? I thought it would come with a manual with orions break in procedure but it didn't.

Yes, I absolutely recommend greasing all the o-rings, seal the rubber boot, and make sure banjo fitting is sealed. Your carburetor and engine will be happier this way. It's so nice to have accurate tune and idle laying down in the corners. ;)

Hi guys,

About to receive a JTP 5 port in a few days. I wanted to make sure I sealed up the carb correctly before I run it in. Found the info above but I don't understand completely.

Is there a particular type of grease that should be used to seal the o-rings and the rubber boot?

What is the banjo fitting?

Any other pointers on sealing the carb would be great.

Thanks.

The Heat Cycle method seems to work very well, breaks-in fairly quickly, and has good life.

I think Pitpop uses a Kyosho grease for greasing the o-rings and other rubber. The Banjo fitting is the fitting where your fuel line attaches to the carb.

Yes to keep the Midrange smooth you need what will seem like a lean bottom. The HSN will be typical for all other engines, IMO..

When tuned 1-2 hours rich from lean bog on bottom its perfect then tune top to power or temp u like since i started doing this and sealed my carb up good motors run and idle perfect with great runtime.
Little tip by ise motor seal on banjo and oring where carb goes in case.
I glue the carb slide boot on and let it rip

Hi guys,

I can get a Orion JTP combo for ~ 260$.
Just want to ask if you would wait for the new engine line or just buy the JTP edition?

Is it possible to make 10 min. pit stops with the JTP engine?
How would this engine perform in a buggy?

I'd say get the JTP, good price for a limited edition engine and pipe.

Engine could go 10 minutes with a good throttle finger and good timing, but your safer at 9-9:30 pit stops.

That engine with the 2058 pipe in a buggy is excellent.
