My .28 crf rev is acting up.For it to idle the bottom has to be set lean and the hard scew idle alittle wider. Also fattened up the top considrable.
At this point she was running good.WOT, end of straight brakes, slowly drop rpm and idle for 15-30 second before loading up and gradualy droppinh rpm until it shut off. Ok was happy there but...
took it out on track ran 1 tank all was good.Took it out again and it just shut off wile on the gas. This happened 2-3 times.

fuel tank and lines new.removed all carb needles ,cleaned reassebled, front bearing not leaking a drop.carb past soapy whater test.

I I can see is much oil leaking out of the carb boot. Not sure if this wood effect.Thinking only other thing could be rear bearing or lost a wrist pin clip.did not do a full disasembly thet.

Final what other carb wouild fit the orion .28 rec crf?

Took the .28 out and put the .24 in to finish the day and never touched a needle on thaT.

I didn't even know the mea RE12.. 10 and 11 are all I have heard of.. RE11 could work well, but the 2013 is tops...

Monty at HES said it's similar to the Nova 9901.

The silver case is stiffer and stronger then the black case.

The new lineup of Orion motors (as seen at the Toy Fair) will all have new cases that are similar to the silver ones.

They have 3 new engines coming, a 3 port, and a 3 and 5 port "tuned" edition. All engines have all new internals with more power and better mileage apparently, with a stronger new black case.

Hey guys looking at getting the .24. Question is do I get the 5 port or the 5+2? Any help would be great. What's the difference? Also any idea about run time with either motor? Thanks in advance.

Scott

Either get the job done well. The true 5 port will have slightly better fuel mileage, while the 5+2 will give a touch more power..

Run time will be around 10min 30 seconds on either of them once fully broke in. Barely enough for 10 minute pits on a short track, but medium to big tracks will require a 9-9:30 pit clock..

3-port CRF has excellent bottom end, good for truggy, yet screams up top when coupled with a 2013 pipe.. You should get a bit more run time with this set up also..

still finalizing on my decision. since the new engines wont be out for awhile ill have to get one thats in stock. I have a few questions. whats the difference between the black case and silver case? also does anyone use the ori80680? looking for a orion .21 5 port engine on a 8ight 2.0 buggy. any recommendations?
