Yea........try tuning them..........and runtime was terrible on mine. also ran Very hot. And yes, I DO know how to tune. Everyone usually comes to me to tune their engines.

As Yamaha mentioned they run hot are a PITA to tune, and fuel mileage isn't as good as even the Discovery.. The Power is pretty sepcatacular, but if you can't put it to the ground it is wasted.. Orion Alphas puts power to the ground as good or better then any engine I have ever had the pleasure of strapping to a RC car..

Yesterday at palm desert motor disco was great had prob. In frist qual. With motor bogging at first blip took apart after round one to air seal carb again and found idle screw broken went to pk aka pitpop and well he spent half an hour filing down the slide barrel and replacing my idle screw
what i didnt expect was that he tooj the time to clean the carb grease everything back up and show me a trick by gluing the boot ti the base. It was fabulous i put it back in my disco bench tuned it and then at second qual pitpop came over helpex me pit my car to make sure tune was good which it was best customer help from a rep of any rc product i have ever owned.
Oh yeah in my main the disco went 12 min. Main without pitstop actually about 12:30 by time got to pit lane came in at 241
once again big thanks to pitpop
Waz also cool to see him run in truggy class fun day at the toys 4 tots race in palm desert

That is one of the reason Paul and Cody are sponsored by Orion.. Good People helping out other good people.

Something I've found in RC racing, is most people will give you just about anything they have to keep you running. In no other sport hobby or profession have I seen anything like this..

yamahamxracer 12-04-2011 11:01 PM

Is it possible to get the neo engine?

I don't think Horizon has released it in the US yet.. But I haven't looked in the last few weeks either..

Has anyone ran all three pipes on the disco motor
2057
2058
2013
I am running 2013 and in the ae 8.2 with new drivetrain it just plain has to much bottom end wondering how much 2058 will calm bottom or if should just go to the 2057 which is all top i believe

Coach Townsend 12-05-2011 06:55 AM

I dont think Horizon is going to sell that motor. I have been asking even got
ahold of ORion. Looking like you can get it pretty much every country but US.

PK little help here:nod:

I'd suggest the 2058 also. It'll still have some bottom end, just not as much as the 2013..

yamahamxracer 12-05-2011 11:15 PM

Is the CRF carb the same carb that is on the Discovery?
