I haven't tried it myself yet so can't comment but I have a brand new full mod pre-run TXT1R-US sitting here with 2013 pipe for use in my truggy. As soon as spring comes along i'll break it in and report back

Thank you! As I stated I know everyone will tell me go with the .21 engines but I've heard good things about the .24's and I want to give it a try not too mention don't like the torque of .21's. They're great in a buggy but in my truggy I just feel more comfortable with more torque. Fits my driving style better. I had a Novarossi .21BF it as okay, excellent runtime but lacked the power I became accustomed to.
The TXT1R is the Extech .24 isn't? Based on a google search thats what came back.
Again I'm sorry for hi jacking sort of. I only intended to inquire if I was selecting the correct pipe for the Orion .24.

The Extech 2 designation has changed to Sirio TXT1R (tuned version) and Sirio TXT1S (standard version) since 2010 for the .24.
They are square stroke (17,1 bore x 17,1 stroke) engines. Which in theory means a good balance between speed and torque.
The Orion .24 is basicly the same afaik. There is an Orion CRF .24 tho which has the Orion patented CRF crank.

And I'm sure a "MOD" .24 would do just the same...Sorry I'm not trying to hijack. I came to read on the Team Orion Alpha Engines and ask a final question before I purchased my engine and pipe.
Torque and POWER are two different thing...My losi 427 makes excellent torque but not good power. I feel won't lose as much torque with the Orion .24 as say a .21 but yet will gain POWER and mileage.
I know that the .21 would be what everyone suggest but I like being different. If it works for some it will work for me.
The discovery looks nice though..Not bad for $150 though.

Not all .21's are the same.... the N21 you ran is about the weakest .21 money can buy....Some of the other .21's make a pile more torque and power then the N21...so if your basing your ideas of a .21's capabilities off your experiences witht he N21 your selling .21's very short...... IMO a good .21 like a Jammin 21 ( stock ) will make more torque then the .24 will make.....thats the reason I did not like the .24, I felt the performance was less then the good .21's on the bottom and far less on top..... it is a nice engine, but its far from being the powerhouse you would expect with the larger displacement....... But I guess everything is relative to what your used to running....

.28 is a fuel hog I'm experiencing with my 427. I guess I asked the wrong question. LOL We've been off topic enough jacking this thread. No...The discovery is $150 I see though. Not a bad price...Guess I'll keep doing my research. The Argus A52 is the same price as the Orion .24 which another motor I was looking at. Thanks for everyone's input. Now I'm just back at square one trying to decide again! Yeah, I was basing my position on .21's from the Rossi but it wasn't a cheap motor when I bought it. Cost more than the Argus and Orion motors I'm looking at!
DECISIONS DECISIONS LOL

First off this is the Team ORION Alpha thread plz don't try to change someones mind on what it is they want when he has already stated what he wants..

2nd don't just stir the pot.. If you have no useful info on the subject at hand, in this case Orion Alpha engines, then don't post.. Thanks..

Back to Irocs question, To my knowledge Losi hasn't made a 2013 pipe, but I honestly don't know if they ever have or not..

Maximo, we all respect your opinion, and I think we all know you've never like the .24 based engines, I know I did. I will agree with you that a good .21 engine will be just as good or better in some instances then the .24. But, having ran a .24 I'll say it is a good blend of power with a smooth throttle throughout its's RPM. And for a beginning or throttle heavy racer it is just the ticket in most cases.. I'll also agree that the n21b is about the softest .21 available..

Now please lets get back to Orion Alpha engine discussion..

I apologize for causing a ruckus but thank you for your response and ending the discussion...You right, I am a new beginning racer, I don't need the best mill out there or one that won't let me learn the basics. I've been bashing all my life and am used to spinning the wheels excitement so I feel the .24 will be great for me.
In reply to your statement about the Losi pipe, yes they do make a 2013 off road pipe.
"The EFRA 2013 Tuned Pipe Set was designed by Team Orion for use with the Mike Truhe Edition .21 Ceramic Buggy Engine (LOSR1900). This pipe set is also used in the Mike Truhe Edition .21 Ceramic Buggy Nitro Kit (LOSR1901)."

Just burned 750cc in my new Orion CRF .24 with the 2013.Still tight but so far very pleased with it in the truggy.Smooth power delivery and plenty of it.Revs out the back better than I expected too. After a few more tanks I'm ready to see what she has with the happy needle.Any other pipe suggestions ?

Burned 500cc in my new Orion CRF Rev .28. Still very tight but this thing is going to be ridiculous.Should be fun.If I want to get some more top end out of it what pipe should I use? I think going up a tooth in the bell gear will be benificial aslo.

The CRF .21 MTE is next in line for break in.I think this is going to be my race motor for the truggy. We will have to see since I have not run one yet but its gonna be tough to take that .24 out of there.

I am new to the Orion engines.Got a great deal on them. They seem to like a leaner bottom than other engines I have run and seem to run a about 20 deg hotter.
So far I am a fan.

the 28 I believe is a Picco made engine, it is an absolute beast... it will run its best on a OFNA 086

Could you PM after you run the .24 and .21 with full power settings?
I'd like to know your thoughts on the two on race use for a new racer like myself!

The winter weahter is finaly rolling in now.Looks like high temps in the 40's deg next few days and then into the 30's for the high.I may not be able to break in the MTE untiol spring now.I will let you know if we are blessed with some more weather in the 50's - 60's as I will be burning some nitro for sure.

Stupid winter

Yes I beleive the .28 Rev is a Picco based engine.I will have to try and fine a good deal on an 086 and give it a try.I have an Losi RE10,RE11,RE12,Go 2072,stock Losi pipe from the 454,Jammin P4 and P6.Any of those close to a 086?

the 086 is "The" pipe for a Picco 28..... especially the OFNA version.. The OFNA has a short double 90 header which the Picco's LOVE ! I am sure other pipes may work, but if you want to see that 28's full song put it onto a 086 on a shorty double 90 header.....

4 pipe coupler springs for orion 2013

I can't find replacement springs for my Orion 2013.All the springs I have tried are to long and I had to cut a set down and re bend them and that sucked.
Where can I get the right replacement springs?

if the .24 is that cheap, your going to have a hard time finding a more powerful .21 for that kind of money...so the .24 for that kind of money does make sense......
