My buddy put one of these engines on his Traxxas waterproof vehicles. When he went under water it quit. Now we can't get it started. I think it's a warranty issue but I don't want one on my Duratrax if it can't take a little moisture.

No I'm not serious. LOL

This is the kind of crap I hear at the shop.

Pitpop is right when you can hear just about anything.

These are great engines.

i ran the alpha .24 last season and was the best engine ive ever owned, and i only buy top notch stuff, so that bein said and if i wasnt runnin os and handed fun stuff for them to try, id still be runnin orion, hands down...most people that think they know wuts goin on, dont know squat...hell, idk squat myself, but every orion ive ever even seen was night and day better than all the nova's west of the mississippi! and like paul said...back to ur regularly scheduled program...

Since your over it I guess you came here too late.. If your used to say an OS and trying to tune it the same it won't work.. Post up your tunning problems and we might be able to help you.. Or, at the very least help you find someone in your area that can..

Greg, I can't imagine the stories you get from guys in a Hobby Shop.. I've been around a few, and WOW the stories flow like beer at a Frat party.. My favorite is the guy that has like $2 grand in hop up parts in a Savage or T-Maxx then shows up to race and Can't figure out why he isn't just whooping everyones butt..

Dam I know that guy !!!!! met him a few times already LOL !

You're correct. Funny how people think money will win races.

It's very easy to get burned out. I am wore out from working with the public. I think I would be better off with a shovel in a ditch somewhere before I hurt someone.
I hate to say it but it's bad and getting worse. Simply no common sense anymore and it has me a little worried.

Is the king and tebo motors just a regular orion motor with a different head and case?

It's not you. The new batch of discovery engines that Horizon recently shipped out have something wrong with them. We ordered three for our shop and another shop on town ordered a few and they all have the same issue. I have personally ran these engines for a while now and they have been some of the best engines I have ever ran. Easy to tune, tons of power, 11-13min runtime, and great longevity. Until this last batch. All 5 engines are having the exact same problem. So I called Horizon because some of our customers want their money back. I know not many companies do warranty on nitro engines but there is something clearly wrong. All my old discoveries came with two shims. The new ones come with three. I've never had to seal an Orion engine before but I went ahead and tried it just to see if it fixes the problem with no luck. I set it up like my old ones with two shims and a Orion 6 plug same fuel same car one runs great still and the new one will not hold a tune or idle at all. Also I switched the carbs just thinking they had a bad run and my old one does the exact same thing. Horizon and Orion both do not want to help with the issue so we are supposed to just tell customers sorry about your luck???

LOL!

I've been having some tuning issues with my discovery as well. I though it was just me though. Even if Horizon was willing to help. I would be SOL anyway since my air filter popped off today and I am pretty sure I sucked in some dirt.
