First off this is the Team ORION Alpha thread plz don't try to change someones mind on what it is they want when he has already stated what he wants..
2nd don't just stir the pot.. If you have no useful info on the subject at hand, in this case Orion Alpha engines, then don't post.. Thanks.. Back to Irocs question, To my knowledge Losi hasn't made a 2013 pipe, but I honestly don't know if they ever have or not.. Maximo, we all respect your opinion, and I think we all know you've never like the .24 based engines, I know I did. I will agree with you that a good .21 engine will be just as good or better in some instances then the .24. But, having ran a .24 I'll say it is a good blend of power with a smooth throttle throughout its's RPM. And for a beginning or throttle heavy racer it is just the ticket in most cases.. I'll also agree that the n21b is about the softest .21 available.. Now please lets get back to Orion Alpha engine discussion.. I was just expecting more kick from the .24 is all..I do not have much use for engines that are too smooth ya know ! ;) |

I can't find replacement springs for my Orion 2013.All the springs I have tried are to long and I had to cut a set down and re bend them and that sucked.
Where can I get the right replacement springs? |

I have been using Werks Racing Case/Manifold Spring (Short) WRXTL21060100. I got them at A-main. They are the same length.

I apologize for causing a ruckus but thank you for your response and ending the discussion...You right, I am a new beginning racer, I don't need the best mill out there or one that won't let me learn the basics. I've been bashing all my life and am used to spinning the wheels excitement so I feel the .24 will be great for me.
In reply to your statement about the Losi pipe, yes they do make a 2013 off road pipe. "The EFRA 2013 Tuned Pipe Set was designed by Team Orion for use with the Mike Truhe Edition .21 Ceramic Buggy Engine (LOSR1900). This pipe set is also used in the Mike Truhe Edition .21 Ceramic Buggy Nitro Kit (LOSR1901)." http://www.losi.com/Products/Feature...rodId=LOSR1950 BTW don't worry about the ruckus.. I wasn't even that concerned about what Maximo said more so about what followed.. We al have opinions, and no one can make a logically decision with out hearing all sides. But when we get guys coming just to bash on someone, well that's what I wanted to stop.. |
I will keeps this short and sweet since its more a CRF/pipe topic.
Maximo if I knew you sold the 086 I would have purchased it from you, went on your sight now I know.I ran one of your Clocked JL .21's ,that thing was vicious!Buddy runs your Nova .28 and its nuts and he does well. Thanks for the advice. I slapped the Losi RE10 in today wile I am waiting on the 086 and wow .28Rev CRF really woke up! Tore the rear diff up in half a tank LOL. I am searching for a thread on cross referencing pipes from different manufacturers and trying to understand the mystical #'s on these pipes and how you know if its a low mid or mid high ect. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks |

The #'s mean nothing. It is simply a refence # for EFRA to somewhat keep track of what is or isn't legal.. IE at the 2010 worlds the 2013 pipe was not legal to run, but the 2058 was.. Essentially when someone applies for an EFRA # for a new pipe they just issue them the next # in line.. The only exception, I think, is that 2013, 2057, 2058 are all 2 chamber pipes, and 30** numbered pipes are 3 chambered pipes..
The pipes with EFRA 3xxx desigation are compliant with new stricter EFRA sound regulations but generally make less power. Older pipes like the Nova 9853 or 9886 are usually 2 chamber pipes which are loud but make excelent power because they provide less restriction. Newer pipes are mostly 3 chamer pipes to comply to EFRA (sound) regulations. The 2013 isn't legal in EFRA sanctioned events because of the sound level it generates (even tho its a 3 chamber pipe and used to be legal before stricter sound regulations). As a rule pipes with the same EFRA designation should have the same internal dimensions and provide the same performance. Ofcourse the material they are made of can differ. There are clones aswell and usually they name them so you can recognise what pipe they immitate: i.e. the Dynamite 053 is a clone of the (famous) Novarossi 9853 and the Dynamite 086 is a clone of the Novarossi 9886 top end pipe. |
