Hey Mp9er

I think I will ask the guy because if you were able to race at the Australian Nationals with it, for the wa state titles it should be fine.

The pipes I was thinking of trying were the os 2060, grp 2053, hong nor 2047 or a jp4. I own the 2060 and 2047 but should be able to borrow a 2053 and jp4 to try. Any other pipes that you can think of that would be worth trying????

Thanks
Fleggy:)

%30 ....more power then I need ....the pipe tames it a little ....but if u hammer down look out man ...

the pipe numbering system has nothing to do with the performance of the pipe, the pipes are not numbered sequentially based on the type of power they provide, it's just assigned by EFRA when they submit for approval

PitPop, what is a basic needle setting range for the CRF 3-Port?

Hi Kalgard. I wasn't ignoring you, I'm just a little hesitant to give this type of information for a couple reasons. One is some of our equipment is pre-production. We likely have some different configuration carbs, needles, etc., which obviously could throw things off. Initially if I had to venture a guess, I would say just below flush on the low end needle, and well below on the high speed needle. Honestly, you should be able to get it set correctly without copying the settings of another engine. It will be quite rich initially of course and then you can start leaning it out until it's running strong. With 13 tanks of fuel through it I would say lean it out. :) Are you in SoCal? I'll help you at the track if you want. We'll be at JBRL this weekend.

PitPop, not a problem....I understand. I feel I am a good tuner, just wanted an idea of where they should be. Never ran an Orion CRF Alpha and was just wondering.

Thanks

I can't wait to run it.

I have a brand new orion 3 port, ceramics ect ect...I paid 300 bucks for the engine on A main.
never even hooked up the carb and I will sell it for 250 WITH a nova rossi carb (the guys out this way use the nova carb)
if you have good feedback I will just send it to you and you can pay me after you recieve it as I have no feedback on rctech but am not new to the game

mp9er 04-08-2010 10:58 PM

no worries fleggy you racing in sydney at the state titles

the topic one question dude why buy 300 dollar motor then sell for 250

TheTopic 04-09-2010 07:16 AM

I actually bought 2 engines an Orion and a Werks B5 and an orion 2013 pipe.
I put support for the Werks I think is better and when I broke it in the way they said it runs perfect so I would rather sell it and buy another werks.

3 Port CRF: Which pipe?

I am breaking in my new CRF 3 port this weekend for my buggy. I have the CRF 3 port combo that came with the 2057 pipe. Why do they sell the 2057 in this combo? I thought everyone recommends the 2013 pipe?

I have both pipes, so I am trying to decide. Does anyone have "hands on" experience with both these pipes? Pitpop, maybe?

How do these pipes compare? Does the 2013 have too much bottom end with the 3 Port and no topend? I am assuming the 2057 will give me more mid/top and longer runtime. Someone mentioned the 2057 runtime was 45 seconds longer than the 2013 on the same track. Is that possible? I am hoping to have 10 minutes fuel stops and medium/large outdoor tracks  like the Nitropit.

Thanks in advance.

pipes

I have never used the pipe that is included with the combo , but have been using the 2013 with great results. I was told its sold with that pipe because the 2013 is not legal in europe .

Who has the CRF Alpha 3 port in stock? Amain is out.

Thanks
