Well, I have 13 tanks on my Orion Alpha .24. I am so used to my old nova +4 running at 230. The Orion feels and sounds fat at 241 degrees, but 1 hour and it totally RIPS! and comes off at 250-255.
I know everyone says these motors like 250-270, the temps are just making me nervous. I am sure it will start to break in more and running cooler with a few more tanks thru it Can the Expert on here just confirm these temps are fine. Thx |

Hey Guys need some help.. broke the carb body on my 3 port alpha (non ABI / standard version), they cost $130 :weird: and I was wondering if Nova or OS carbs can be used... I read that some people use .18 carbs on .21 engines to improve fuel time, sacrificing a bit of power....
Never the less I have a nova P5 and a 327, and an OS .18.... Just wondering If any of you know if these can be used???? P.S. The motor Idles great like usual, but when punching the throttle it bogs and will rev inconsistently, and of course flame out. Just order the new carb. It's totally worth it. |

Why would you want a .18 carb on a .21 anyways? |

Hey guys just to let you know that I did try the NOVA's 327 carb and it works like a charm... I won't say better, but it does push hard enough.
The thing is the new Orion carb cost's 130 - 140 dollars and I had this one in my tool box, and Im saving up to get the MTE and leave this one as a back up. |
What are race needle settings for the CRF 3-Port?? Just trying to get an idea.
Thanks |
Wow .....just broke in a .24w/2056 combo w/updated carb ...amazing quality really easy to tune ...but fit and finish is of the charts
i thought the 2056 was like the other bat pipes but looking in the stinger it looks like a different chamber:sneaky: can wait to see them both in action Kal-gard;) |
Yep, mine broke in very nicely. I put 13 tanks thru it on Saturday. Quality was a suprise, much nicer than I expected. These are totally different mills than the Orion I ran last year. I have been running RB's for a couple years, and it was hard to try something else, we will see what it does on the track:sneaky:
Anyone have "Race" needle settings, I need an idea where to start after break in. Thanks. |
Hi Guy's
Unfortunately I have just found out that for my up coming state titles here in Australia, the team orion 2013 pipe is not allowed according to the ifmar list link posted below. I have also been unable to source a 2066 or a 2055 pipe. Could anyone else please suggest a good pipe to use on a team orion MT Ed. motor please. Otherwise I'm thinking an OS 2060 or a grp 2053 will have to do Thanks Fleggy:) http://www.ifmar.org/pdf/mufflers/MUFFLER_8_2009.pdf |
hi fleggasaurus im running the 2013 pipe at the moment and ran it at nationals here in aus and it cleared tech inspect its just an old pipe so you should be okay i also plan on using it at nsw titles but just incase you should grab a 2066 but again you should be right with the 2013

Hey MP9'er
The vice president of the club posted up the list so I presume that he will be doing some scruitineering and checking so I'm not sure. I Think i will try it but if I get picked up, well I will have to try something new. I have a 2063 which is 2 numbers off a recommended sirio 2066 pipe. Would being 3 numbers off the ideal sirio pipe be as close a match as possible or is the number scheme completely random???? Thanks Fleggy |
it might be a good idea too test that other pipe to see how the motor runs with it also that way you get an idea of the fuel econemy with that pipe come the day of state titles in wa if you can speak too the person who's scrutineering the cars and ask if the 2013 is okay. i had the same situation before nationals seeing the pipes not on the list so i asked the scrutineering guy he said it was okay and nats is pretty strict just remember when changing pipes you will need to retune the motor
gl at the titles dude:tire: |
