What is the shim thickness for 25% and 30%? I have the usa edition s5 with turbo chamber.

Engine is already shimmed for 25% and most of us run 30% with no issues at all.

I just ran truggy in the yard to see if the alumium shoes helped the low end performance. It seems to have help,I'll know for sure when I get to the track.I also got some 1.2 ofna springs, but couldn't get them on after about 2 hours of fighting with them.So still running 1.0 springs.I also leaned the bottom,it was doing the 2 stage idle like in the video someone just put up.Looks like the s7 can move a truggy pretty good.

I have ran the WS 7, WS7 II, and the WS7 III, in truggy for a while, the bottom isn't explosive enough for anything higher than a 1.0 spring, when you go with a 1.1 or 1.2, it will have a hesitation before the clutch bites, or a delay, till the engine can spool up to engage the shoes, which be softer on bottom, and more inconsistent to adjust to for racing.

Oh, ok I was thinking backwards then. Thanks

What is the best pipe for the X10 and how is the feel of the engine. And also fuel mileage. This is probably my next engine.Trying something diffrent from sirio based engine.

Sorry for the late reply, I am on vacation and internet is iffy at best.

The X10 seems to work great on the 2045 and the new 2087. It felt like I got a little better top end with the 2045, but not much. The improved torque and fuel mileage of the 2087 makes up for the minor loss of top speed.

Hey,
just received my new F11 with 2087 Tuned Pipe w/192mm Manifold. I see that it comes with only the 9mm venturi. Does anyone know how much runtime we can get out it and i was thinking maybe going down to an 8mm in a truggy to get over the 10 minutes mark at least. Anyone has an idea?

thx

:)

Not for sure, but generally they have 9mm venturi, with a red, 8mm restrictor, orange 7mm, white 6mm. Did you see any of those?

Big_one 07-07-2011 03:25 PM

Nah,
thats what i tought but no. I still have some left over from my shark 9 combo that is sittin`in my rc8b as we speak. Super smooth engine by the way and really fuel efficient :D I am hoping that the F11 will pull my 8T 2.0 really hard

The shark would be.better for the truggy, f11 better for buggy.

Big_one 07-07-2011 04:41 PM

Really? I ran just over a gallon on the Shark 9 and dont see a lot of bite on the bottom end so not too sure for a truggy. I am running it with a 6.5 venturi to get some runtime out of it with 92mm and 2045 pipe. As we speak i am running a plus 4 team with 7mm venturi in my truggy and dont think its enough either. engine is too smooth i guess???

You can run a 7mm restrictor in the shark, and get at least 10 to 14 minutes out of a tank in truggy, and you will get a little more power with the larger restrictor, they are probably the best for fuel mileage of all, what clutch are you using in your truggy? The B11 is basically the old C6, it has power all the way through. The F11 is new, I don't know much about those yet. I have been running a C6 BBT, in truggy, getting 10 minutes plus on fuel, with a 7mm. I would go with the F11 in buggy, and shark in truggy, besides the shark has a balanced crank, the others don't.

Chris Peralta 07-08-2011 11:28 AM

The F11 is actually more of a truggy engine. This engine is a 7 port but it has a very aggressive crank in it and will run almost identical to the Rally engine. I tried to run the Rally in buggy last year and it was just too much power out of the corners and I was always breaking traction. It was fun to drive but actually hurt laptimes in my buggy. It's not gona hurt to try it in both vehicles at all, everyones driving style is different so you might love it in buggy.
