Yes i pulled the plug and iit will not glow. I was told that the bottom maybe to rich and fowling out the plug. Does that sound right?

To foul a plug it would have to be more than a little rich. Have you leaned out the LSN at all since breaking in the engine?

about 2 1/2 hours. it boggs after 3 to 4 seconds

What do you mean it bogs after 3-4 seconds? After 3-4 seconds on the gas it bogs? or it bogs for 3-4 seconds then takes off?

The idle drops after 3-4 seconds. After that it would take off slow, so I leaned the bottom until it would take off when i squeezed the trigger. It was killing plugs before that. The motor has ran the best and longest with mc59 plug. Thats what makes me think its loading up and killing the plug. I have read that if the plug is distorted then its to lean.

well i had a similar problem but my odonnell plug was brown on the surface and the coils, looked good on the last couple of coils but the top ones did look diffrent, and my would just idle good than it would drop down and load up even though i leaned the low end needle out. did yours flame out too while you were racing ?

but i used, a new plug and it idles great and keeps on running and i could get a tune. im on my secound gallon on my s5

never flamed out during a race until i came in the pits and the idle would drop, then it was done. Sometimes it would die instantly but most of the time 3 to 4 seconds in.

Sounds like the hsn is lean.

Ok so yes if the idle hangs high for 3-4 seconds then drops that is generally because your LSN is still too rich. It can also be from the HSN being too lean but in your case it seems the LSN is rich. You should be able to rev the engine up pretty high with the wheels off the ground and when you let off it should drop to a nice steady idle fairly quick. If you continue to let it idle for 5+ seconds it will drop down to a lower idle from there but after 3-4 seconds of idle you should be able to give it full throttle again and have it sounds crisp and not blubbering rich.

hey chris , so if i understand this right, the buggy 9 is compatable with the c6? if so wich case is better etc. same crank...sorry man, just a local guy has a c6 and im thinking about it..

cdc 08-30-2010 02:43 PM

The B9 is compatable with the C6.

TommyBlazin 08-30-2010 02:44 PM

ok, so if u had the b9 case/crank/head only and a c6 2 gallons, would u take parts from one to add to the other? maybne different porting on crank etc...? thanx

OK I did some testing tonight with the 20% and a Cold Plug and this is what I came up with. I set all the factory setting on the needles. Started the engine and it was really fat. I leaned the hsn about 3 hours total and was producing good smoke and it runs great on the top end. So I started on the LSN, all in all I took 8 hours out of the bottom and put 1 back in the top. The motor runs good on the top and will idle. After a count to 5 the motor will rev up nice and fast. Big puffs of smoke on the bottom at the start and a nice small stream when WOT. Thanks for all the help.

Yes those two are compatible, the crank is the same the piston sleeve and rod are the same the only difference will be the cooling head, they both might be L2G or the C6 could be an old style head that will cool better.

Glad it's working well now for ya, if you have any more questions with the engine feel free to ask!
