I have a MM5 3 port as well and having tried the 2072 on it last weekend I actually think it runs better with the 2047..it really doesn't need any more bottom end punch and the 2047 gives it a screamin top..end..top motor though..I love it on short twisty tracks..

I was out this afternoon running my 7-port turbo that I am breaking in. was going good all of a sudden FLAME OUT! So I did not panic checked temp was at 190 about where I had it with the heat gun. So I reset all needles, still flaming out. From my experience on this thread and the education that I have gotten from every one I realized there was something else going on. First thing I did was replace glow plug. went from os p-4 too os p-3. that motor does not like those plugs. Now ed bridges told me to only use the os-p3 in my 5 port. and it does not like any other plug. well I took it in the shop checked fuel filter, lines noticed air filter outer cover was a little dirty so I put on a clean one.I also took out the hsn,and to my surprise around the threads it looked like rubber gasket material? so I blew through the pressure line while holding a paper towel under the fuel inlet opening and out came more rubber particals. I basically just flushed it out and put needle back in. Back somewhere in this thread a gent was going to try the O'Donnell OD77T turbo plug. I did and by god that engine really likes that plug. So who ever suggested that plug thank you. I am going to run it in my 7 port turbo and save the 8.00 os plugs for my eb modded 5 port. So what did I learn from this thread? when my go tec starts acting up it is not necessarily the engine. mine have always stayed in tune. this particular engine I had set the needles once and never touched again until today. the other thing was don't panic, and I noticed I was getting a little anxious. thinking the carb the carb, got to be some thing wrong with the carb. sht I have everything set like the forum say's to. saved my self a lot of time and head ache just going over everything. and having faith in this product. was it the rubber stuff around the hsn needle? don't think so I think it was the glow plug. I think my whole point to this story for me is if the engines running good and you've done your home work there really is no problem only a quick solution. KNOW YOUR PRODUCT

Good luck for the weekend, hope the weather stays fine, boy it was cold racing last Sunday

Yeah it was pretty bleak for sure. Metvu rain radar is all clear for Sunday. Boys reckon the track is absolutely MINT. They are talking lap record times with the new Mugen 6T truggies. They were running hot last meeting so it will be fast. My XRay is going good, so maybe a PB time for me if I can keep it on the planet

Team boss is also rebuilding the mighty gen1 with full 5.5 5port inernals so that will be interesting to see
and the 2072 pipes should be arriving soon too -well the test bunch anyway
might see you there tomorrow if your not working

I have decided to run my 7 in the buggy for the rest of this season. I really like the powerband, and it just suits my driving better at this stage. It is a bit of a hybrid now. It has a new Gen 5.5 crank, MMods Stage 3 sleeve and a short LSN fitted. Suits the XRay nicely - very quick, but in a controllable sort of way
Looking forward to getting one of the 2072 pipes myself. From what I have heard, these pipes and the 7 Ports are made for each other
Bring it on
CU in the Tron next weekend, weather permitting.

I have been running a 7.0 restrictor and have plenty of power and control with my 2.0t I am wanting to try the 6.5 what would be a rule of thumb for changing restrictors. I race the nitro pit usually and it is summer truck ran 22 laps and came off at 234 on 80 degree evening a main.I like the tune and all but just want to try to squeeze more run time and control out of it. What do you think. Just help me to understand a bit more. thanks -Darrin
