-and they do try to fix there problems with the carbs
Others throw it at the tunner/driver if something goes wrong with there engine...see "high end engine" own forums!! blame the tuner for not knowing how to tune a engine ass backwords

In off road a lot of things can go wrong...
-your air filter might go off
-a runaway

I don't even want to imagine this with a >$300 engine.
Do you want to discuss parts availability and cost...i don't think so.
RB/Novarossi rods are $50-$60
Picco-i saw somewhere they charged $78 for a rod.

yes other engines are expensive. i give the go engine credit for the engine itself my 5 port when it would hold a tune ran great it just wasn't enough for my liking. i shouldnt have to stop in a 5 minute qualifier because the carb wants to be a pile to temp the engine and change the tune because the carb is junk. i finished probably 3 qualifiers without having to mess with it other then that i spent more time stabbing the thing with a screwdriver to get the tune right. oh well if go ever figures out there carb issues and i dont have to tune the thing with the low end needle i might buy another one

Thanks.

Higgs2ca i run the GO .25 6 port engine in my jammin crt x1 now transfered into the x2 that just arrived and i love it i run it with the go 2047 pipe and it tears up the track nicely. most of all it gets pretty good fuel milage for a big motor i think im getting around 7 1/2 to 8 mins. i cant wait to try it in the jammin x2 this weekend. thnx Will G

That's because there is a thread for GO engines and not for Picco.
At least not so popular.
And i don't think that Picco sells more engines than GO does.
And they did/or do have carb issues...do a search.

And also...try to find a rod for a P7R engine...please do, because my friend needs one and not the $78 i referred to.
He has been looking for one for 4 months now.
Even nitrohouse is out of stock.

well that sucks for your friend. every company has issues but my picco runs great along with the 5 other piccos that the group of people i race with own. so picco must have figured something out yet go went from one pile of crap carb to another

Yeah you could get a V-spec and have it lose compression in the first gallon and be a nice heavy paperweight also just like 4 other locals had done to them here and many others I have read about. Might be a hit or miss thing with that OS problem but not a $300 chance I want to take.

oh and buy the way i got one of those lemon vspecs too will i own another os engine NO but i would consider a go if they figured out the carb issues

vti-chris 07-03-2008 06:37 AM

I didn't say my friends picco had issues...i said he is looking for a rod...to replace the OLD one.

And relax...if you don't like them don't buy them.
If you do want to give them another shot that's your call.

blktransam 07-03-2008 06:37 AM

I have 4 piccos not one of them has a carb issue and they all hold tunes and run like raped apes.

have seen several locals try these go techs and they all have ended up selling them or just out right throwing them away

Everybody has bad experiences dude, I had 1 or 2 myself but your dwelling toooo much on it bro just chill out. If I wasted my time bitching about everything I didnt like I wouldnt have any time. I just bought my 1st GO mill a PTM 5 port and if I have carb issues oh well just fix it. I am just saying where is the fun in the hobby if your just going to be all negative about everything.

Same thing with OS.
Had to replace main bearings every 2-3 gallons. It became a routine service!!

I believe the OS venturies also work on GO and Novarossi engines as well.

I am not real sure where everyone gets that you have to replace bearings in V-specs but I have had 4 of them and I have put 25 gallons in 3 of them so that is 9 gallons on two of them and 7 in the last one and then I got a lemon on this last one and it lasted about 3/4 of a gallon but I have yet to do anything to those other three

kcpipeliner 07-03-2008 06:50 AM

and as far as go techs go I can't say anything bad yet lol I have 1/2-3/4 of a gallon through it and love it and my buddy has one with over a gallon on it and it will run 8-9 min on a tank and will run right with those 500.00 speed tuned v-specs

Which Novarossi carbs are you or others using? I found three different Novarossi carbs.

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/8844

(I think the first two are the same except for the venturi carb restictors)

I also found three different OS carbs.
