What pipe would you guys recommend to use on a Go .28 6-port? A jammin Jp-4 or one of the GO pipes?

These Go engines are so confusing.
I had my 3R running well yesterday. 215º making good power, blowing good smoke. It still takes quite a while to load it up before you can actually put it on the track and turn laps, with almost a gallon through it. Some really experienced and talented drivers and tuners were telling me that it was taking forever because it was far too rich, and the engine was choking on all the fuel it was getting. So they'd lean it out just a tad, and it would lean bog like mad. It's like it has to be ridiculously rich and warmed up for a while or it just won't go. My low speed is a turn in from flush, and my high speed is barely two turns in from flush. I keep hearing the same thing from people who help me tune. "That's WEEEEEEEEIRD." But aside from that, when it's warmed up and running well, it's more than enough engine. I'm certain it could keep up with the GRPs that several people are running. I'm new to offroad, and having trouble with consistency. |

Your HSN setting is not right, go to flush with it or an hour in from flush, and turn the lsn 1 1/2 turns in from where it is now, and you should be golden, the hsn can't be turned in much more than that, use the fire out of the lsn, good solid idle and plenty of rip on top with good smoke, use P3 plug, what pipe do you run, and do you have the breakin shim in still, if so remove it, keep me posted.
Great support right here!!! Colin |
Breakin shim removed, I run P3 plugs and a JP3 pipe. Using Sidewinder Canadian Team blend 30%.
I'll give those needle settings a try, thanks! Unfortunately, my glow ignitor fried at the track yesterday and I can't test this out until I buy another one, probably Friday. Then I'll be at the track Sunday again. |

I got my 3 port R today. Looks great. Stupid question. Should I break it in the way the needles are "out the box"? The instructions say to turn the hs 1-2 turns out for run in. Anybody have recommendations? The way it "looks" out of the box is ls about 1 turn out and hs one turn in from flush.

Is this the one you were talking about Grizz? and the pipe too?
Engine- http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/16978 Pipe- http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/25539 and does the 0801 pipe come in hard adonized?? Yep that's the babies  The 0801 pipe doesn't come in hard anodised. They are a nice pipe, well finished and perfectly matched to the 7 Port and the other Go engines. Being in Aus you would be better off purchasing from Mark at Massive Mods in Sydney. That way you get his after sales support as well. You might like to use his new fuel too. Some of the boys here in NZ have been trying fuel with his newly developed synthetic oil and the results are very good. MM sells a nice package deal with 1 x 7 Port, 1 x 0801 pipe, plus a set of carb restrictors. Check it out at - http://www.massivemods.com.au/produc...roducts_id=101 Let me know what you decide to do bro  |
Brian I had just tried to call you to ask you what your thoughts were on PTM 5 port verse stock .25. You know mine will be vs truggies for a while, sooner than later I will go to the buggy. Waiting for it to be released.

Hello everyone i just cought this thread and i would like to say GO Tech engines are the S**t. I run the 5 port and had RB Mods do it up WOW this engine is one of the best i have ever ran BY FAR. I got 4 gallons on this and pinch is still CRAZY tight SUPER engine!!! I am getting 11mins on a tank
(120cc) in my Losi 8ight AWSOME There is one HUGH downfall about the GO Tech engine is the CARB:mad: HORRIABLE carb for such a great engine. So i solved that i put the O.S SPEED carb on and BAM that was the ticket to one of the best engines i have ever owned and i have ran every engine on the market. Temps were at like 270 with the GO carb i put the O.S carb on and temps drop to 230 steady with top performance and this baby stays tuned like no other i have not touched the needles since i have installed the carb about 2 gallons ago:o Well just wanted to throw my 2 sence in about this great engine. P.S GO Tech PLEASE LOOK INTO REDOING YOUR CARBS YOU HAVE SUCH A GREAT ENGINE AND SUCH A POOR CARB I KNOW YOU CAN DO BETTER IF YOU CAN BUILD AN ENGINE OF THIS QUALITY:) THANKS |
