Mugen, If I go with the modded is that broke in? Also, how much life do you recieve with a modded mill compared to one that's not.

Breakin is extra, but i can help ya out with that if you want the modded 3 port, with the GO engines I'm not getting any less life span over stock, 6 gallons right now on my modded 3 port and it took TQ and the a main last weekend, fast and reliable.

Hi All,

Does it matter if I have removed/polished the black/brown varnish type coating on top of the piston? The top of the piston looks newwwww..

Thanks for your help

Any dyno results of the Go 3 port R engine anyone???

cherokee180c 04-25-2008 04:34 AM

Brian,

That is great news, as I have been thinking about using your services but a couple of questions:

1. I believe your mods use to include ceramic bearing install. Is this still the case?
2. What is typical turn around time for a motor that you receive from somebody to be modded?
3. When you sell the motor already modded, are they ready to go out the door or is there a "wait" time for those orders? ie are you working ahead or just in time for orders.
4. I have a Go 7 port with about 1 gallon through it already. Can you just as easily mod a slightly used engine vs. new?
5. I know modding substantially increases HP, but does it come at the expense of the fuel efficiency? My 7 port now runs 9:30, and I am trying to get it over 10:30 with inserts and switching to a turbo head. Just wondering what efficiency most of you modded engines are achieving?

Thanks

Hey guys,

I have a Go-Tech 3 port sport and I am going to install the turbo head on it. What plug do you reccommend and how should I shim? I run 30%. also what do you factor in to decide what restrictor to use? I have the stock one and bought a pack that contains 6.5, 7, 7.5 and 8MM venturis.

Thanks for the info. I can't wait to get this engine on my Jammin!!

1. The ceramics rear is not in included with the new price, I do still use and cary them upon request.
2. I try to keep it to a week or less, the past month has been a challenge.
3. I do all i can to work ahead, right now i have 3 ports that i am getting done andc will post if they don't get gone befor i finish them.
4. Yes a gallon is about the limit, i would have to see the conrod.
5. Thats good runtime for the 7 port, 10+ can be done i have 5 ports doing that, 10.30

Brian give me a shout.

cherokee180c 04-25-2008 10:22 AM

Thanks Brian for the quick response. One last question; If a gallon is about the limit, do you mod motors that are worn out with a new piston/sleeve/conrod package+bearings, or is it basically a waste of time with out a new crank, therefore the cost is as high as a new motor?

Hey, just bought a Go 3 Port Race Spec for my dad from Luisev (pbloverz) on ebay, I have a concern though, I read several people getting mixed sleeves between the 7 port and the 3 port but I believe all of them were bought from A-Main-Hobbies, is there a chance that mine will come this way too?
