The club made it illegal the same day, so why not just get rid of that rule and let us use em? Most people have found good motors anyways, besides I'm sure there is something faster out there now anyways

My understanding is that this club follows ROAR rules, so I would expect the D3.5 to become legal, and then become illegal again, on the dates listed. I don't think we can pick and choose which ROAR rules (or rulings) we follow.

i see no reason why we would not allow the motor... however i wouldnt bother going out to buy one... but then again im not one of the fast guys. but if you have one in your box you should be allowed to run it. atleast have a chance to let the smoke out of it.
So what ROAR, and this settlement are saying is we're to allow this motor for 80% of our racing season, then once again ban it. Track records will fall, races will be won, basically with a illegitimate motor.
Easiest solution, in my opinion and mind, is to NOT allow it back. That's the position I am taking, that is my vote. If you still have one, you have a window of opportunity to sell it - and that's my suggestion.
Racing has been better, and closer, without the D3.5.

What they are doing makes sense from the settlement stand point, but it really isn't helping anyone. We already banned the motor, many people already got rid of theirs, let's just walk away from it and put it to rest where it belongs.
I'd also like to point out I am not anti-Trinity in anyway, very much the opposite, I am a team driver.
Please notice also, Trinity is not arguing that the motor is legal. The argument is how it was removed from the list. Otherwise they would just re-issue the D3.5 for approval, it cannot get approved - it fails tech.
In the end: What's best for the club?

No D3.5s and done.
I'll put the one I won on eBay for $28 shipped in my buggy and call it good...

I call shenanigans, let Kyle run one to keep up with Stuart! Haha
am i going to need hub spacers to mount the hpi vintage wheels on a tc6.1 if so what would the part number be?
thanks Erik
thanks Erik
the d3.5 DOES NOT MEET SPECS. while roar is re-approving it, it is still an illegal motor and should not be run.

How I feel after all this D3.5 talk..

There's two options:
1) wider hexes (www.reflexracing.net has some options depending on chassis)
2) wheel spacers (again, www.reflexracing.net has options, but www.hkshobby.com might have cheaper options)
The only potential issue with wheel spacers is that I don't think the hex on the VTA rims is terribly deep.

EDIT: Or what Matt said...

He said 6.1? And i have never found a need to ran anything different to run hpi vintage rims...
