Actually, you could change crystals on both versions.
On the Magnum version, you have to remove a black square sticker in order to change the crystal.
They just don't want you to do this in the US.
It goes against FCC regulations.
The only difference is Futaba doesn't warranty repair on Megatech versions.

So what does that FCC want from you? To buy another transmitter module if you just need a spare frequency?

Didn't think about that, over here they are sold as Megatech too, so I have no problems getting one from Mushroom. On the contary, I got a frequency that's legal here (27MHz), but isn't sold anywhere in this country. So nobody is ever on my frequency.

I don't think anyone does that though.
I think most people just peel the little sticker off, and just change crystals.
Some people even use the Spectra module from Hitec.

As for "see-how-far-car-rolls-forward-with-flick" , close to 6-->7 feet depending on tyre diameter...

Bloomin' heck, that must have been a hard flick! Mine only goes 3 feet or so!
OK, let's be fair here. Piece of wood, 5 feet long, one end on ground and one end exactly 4 inches high ... how far?

Hey,
Thanks forthe Help guys...I have lots of questions...
I have had JR radios in the past and I like them. I would loke to get one of the radios that you can just change the frenquency on the Radio (Like on the JR XS3)
1.Who Else makes a radio like that.
2. Is it true that the JR Reciever dose not fit?
3. Should I get 27 or 75Mhz?
Also got a Hitec (HS-525MG) servo for steering...
What hop ups should I get and from Where? and what should I watch out for building my car...I am on the Front One Way Step
This is my first snake...I like it much better than my RS4 Racer, NTC Nitro, MTX2, RS4 MICRO, SNRALLY, and my TB02 Rally.
I just want to build my car right and have good stuff in it so that I don't have to keep spending money on other stuff, that's why I did not get a R40...

Let us all brothers and sisters in this "room" pray for MarkP,

Had a great day, but it's been spoilt by an old Girlfriend turning up
I give a fuller run down when I don't feel so mad.
Three races: first race 2nd second race 1st third race 2nd
I was beaten by a 710 driver - the Mugen boys where 6 laps down on us in each race. The race was summed over the best two races from the three - the 710 guy beat me by 1.35 seconds
A dominant Serpent display - if you like

A good day until I got home!

Look in the 710 FAQ if at all you need to hop the car up.
I would race the car first and get to know it better !
Concentrate on getting to build the car right and set it right too.
That will reward you.
