Mark,
Sorry to hear about your engine.
Good luck with the 705.
Hopefully your 710 will be back up and running soon.

Profoxcg,
I'm sorry to hear that you're leaving.
Why did you decide to switch cars?

Are you looking for a complete radio set (transmitter, receiver, and servos) for under $300?
I would recommend the Futaba 3PK.
I know RC Mushroom has it for under $300, but it's a Megatech version, and not a Magnum.
It also doesn't come with servos.

I thought I read somewhere about the Magnum / Megatech version that one of them is able to change crytals while the other cannot... Is that the only difference?

Actually, you could change crystals on both versions.
On the Magnum version, you have to remove a black square sticker in order to change the crystal.
They just don't want you to do this in the US.
It goes against FCC regulations.
The only difference is Futaba doesn't warranty repair on Megatech versions.
Here's a quote from their website.

"Do you sell parts for my 3PK "Megatech" radio, I need a new battery tray for it and I can't find one anywhere?
No, the Megatech version of the 3PK is sold only overseas. While we can service these radios, we will not carry the transmitter battery tray.

Also please be aware that we do NOT do warranty repair on ANY Megatech version of this radio. For warranty work the radio will need to be sent back the country of purchase for warranty repair."

I just thought jhigga15, should know this, since he is from Florida.

Hey jhigga15, welcome!

Like everyone here will tell you, download MarkP's FAQ, its useful. You can find it under his signature or at my site at 3hobby.com in the Downloads section.

Oh! You can even read his latest adventure with his cars there

I notice that at the first instance, the gears should be mesh tight. Then when the car is run for a few tanks, the gears "loosened" up. And even though it's smooth and rotates more freely, it will not strip. That's what I notice on mine.
Right. Mine is freer but I'm still not able to "flick-turn-forever" them

Anyway, this weekend its strip down time for the 710.

No no lah. I have both cars so why would I be mean to you.

On the other hand, don't foget to do the famous 16-19 conversion, that is when you've read the last 500 or so pages in the MTX thread. There are lot of good stuff in that thread BUT you know what they're missing?

Master MarkP!

That's why there is no FAQ!

OK, ok, seriously, you'll find the car easy out-of-box ...

So did you go back to the 60 or did you mod the chassis?
