Default Ralph Burch no longer a Team Serpent driver

Well, it's official...

"With regret Serpent must announce that Ralph Burch is unable to race the Serpent "nitro" family of products. Ralph is exploring new business interests that will not allow him to keep his long time relationship with Serpent. We wish Ralph and his family well in their future endeavors."

So, who's left as Team Serpent drivers?

Default Front ball Diff.

Today I tried the front ball diff. I think the car was great with the diff. Has anybody else tried it?

Be careful like what Julius mentioned. Putting your clutch gap smaller to 0.3 mm may bog down your engine. From my experience, you need to tighten the clutch pre tension spring nut so that the engine does not bog down.

Set the clutch pre tension spring nut to 1 mm with 0.3 mm clutch gap. Then on the track, loosen the clutch pre tension spring nut a quarter turn at a time till you get the best acceleration without clutch slip.

thanks, ill try that,

BTW, I heard someone say something regarding rear camber having a different effect than fron camber.

to my undersatanding, camber give you more side bite correct? as the car rolls the more camber the larger the contact patch is with the tire? and I was told to keep all my front and rear camber the same...

I don't think you need to be worried about that. You'll be the first they contact if they need any information.

That's sad news indeed. Ralph Burch's name has been synonymous to Serpent's in all these years. I cannot associate his name with another brand...

I am currently trying the car with a solid front axle. Did you change any setup on the car when you drove it with the front ball diff?

For a good typical setup using front diff, you can check Rene Cornella's and Paolo Morganti's setup at mytsn during the Pre-World race in Brazil.
