Truggy body looks more like a buggy than their buggy body :lol: Not bad looking I guess but I'm just too old school for my own good when it comes to bodies. I like the look of the old MP5s and Athletes and love the XX-T bodies when it came too trucks. All this cab forward mumbo-jumbo makes me gag :(

Ordered a few sets of Blockades in X2 based on recommendations in this thread and just finished gluing them up this morning. It's 70° in the house right now and they feel pretty close to an M3 (considerably softer to the touch than M2s or AKA mediums). Chart showed a temp range of 72-90°. Looking forward to trying them out next week.

Where are you located? Being a proline driver obviously big fan of the X compound but I would recommend x3 or x4 especially as the temps start to drop here in the northeast.

sorry speaking of X compound, did any of you see the pics of the buggies after the hour long main at worlds, Ty was one of the only people with tread left, and plenty of it, and i believe he was running x compound fugitives. The AKAs were all bald.

I'm in sunny southern California and it is still nice and toasty out here (900-102°) :) Ty was running X1s where most other drivers were using medium compounds. I wanted to see Maifields tires after the main as he'd stated they were wearing fantastic as well (not sure what compound he was using). Tough to judge since he only ran about 35-40 minutes of the main.

Any idea when that pic (Maifield) was taken? And yea, I dont know how you guys do it over there. I have a great job offer in the DC area but am probably going to pass it up for less money so I can stay here :lol: I just cant bring myself to run electric 1/8, just seems so, so, wrong.

Im pretty sure all those pictures were taken at tech check after race. And yea we run 8th scale electric and 10th scale electric november-february/march. I for one dread going indoors but always end up having fun either way.

Smart man. I just left the east coast and for what we do. Tracks are pretty scarce(awesome rc is the closest outdoor track to DC.) The ebuggy movement is out of control. So glad to be in Southern California....

Small report about Tekno delrin shock inserts: fantastic! Teknos already have very plush stock shocks, but with new inserts even stock unpolished shaft moves like hot knife in butter. I haven't ever seen kyo shocks to compare, but my shocks now silky smooth

I've built multiple Kyosho gold and platinum shocks over the years and honestly, there are many that are just as good if prep'd correctly.

The only way these shocks are going to rival properly built Kyosho's is with the delrin bushings, nitride coated shafts, and the Losi X-ring setup. I haven't done it, but a friend of mine is soon enough so we will know.

I dont mean to be combative but I've built more shocks than the average bear and I can honestly say that Kyosho doesnt have anything Tekno does not in the shock department. It's cool to think/say something else but if you havent built shocks from multiple manufacturers, you have absolutely no business stating otherwise. I've done them all, the Tekno's are every bit as good. You can argue otherwise but you cant prove it, that I guarantee.

No I understand you're not trying to be combative, but ya I should have said something about my history. I ran associated for 3 years, figured out ways to get those shocks to get to be 95% as good as Kyoshos, then swapped to Hot Bodies, which has some of the most consistent shocks I have ever seen, but they are not nearly as smooth as kyoshos. I build 2 other hot bodies for a good friend of mine, built many kyoshos, both truggies and buggies, owned a mugen and was really disappointed in their shocks, and now own a Tekno buggy and Kyosho truggy.

The only issue I see with the Tekno shocks is the bladders, I don't understand how people get them to work with the stock bladders, but the CSI bladders are absolutely perfect for this car. That said I would rate these shocks a 9/10, very similar to a hot bodies. So by no means are they bad, that is actually great, but to match the smoothness level of the kyoshos, I firmly believe it will require more than the Delrin bushings. But time will tell, I will be sure to try a few things out with the shocks like my buddy is and we will find a setup that is perfect for them.
