Both work, the 7 series are 29mm, the 9's are 30mm, stock tekno's are 28mm, ive run a 30mm before, but has to have 15t bell on a rear motor config, or else it will rotor hits the bell

I have been running teh K-Car brakes in front and rear motor configuration with zero issues.

MP9 or 7?

masher81 09-16-2014 09:03 AM

MP9.

You need to use the Rotors, Pads and hardware that bolts the pads to the diff housing.

Did you notice any difference in the feel. As posted earlier, the stock brakes have plenty of end strength but lack linear feel for me. I added the tubing as others had and also lowered Expo to -60%. This helped a bit but it is still quite all or nothing. EPA is between 30 and 35% somewhere (cant remember off the top of my head) which still needs to be lowered as well so that will provide some help to overall feel.

masher81 09-16-2014 09:15 AM

Yes I feel they are more linear than the stock brakes. They last FOREVER also. The brakes are probably 2 years old and still look new. (Been on the car since December, were on a MP9 before that)

With that said I run very little brakes compared to most I believe. Most people who drive my car complain about the lack of braking power.

Wow thats crazy, how did that happen, I have every tekno kit except the ET48 and I dont have any front bumpers that are even close to being worn out and they all are driven almost every weekend.

madweazl 09-16-2014 11:39 AM

Mine certainly shows plenty of wear (along with the rear of the chassis) on it. I probably have about 3 gallons through it now but being in an area that I consider high wear regardless, I dont mind replacing them regularly. Replacing the chassis on the other hand isnt something I want to do often.

On a 15t bell no issue, but on a 14t the bell hits the disc on a 30mm disc

madweazl 09-16-2014 03:52 PM

I couldnt imagine a 14t bell on this buggy; acceleration is pretty strong with the 15t.

anybody use this box?

I agree. It wold have to be a very very small track. So small that nitro 1:8 buggy should probably not be running on it lol. But yes, the tolerances are very close. I can definitely see a 14t bell hitting the disk.

Graham11 09-17-2014 01:08 PM

Ive run a 14t plenty of times, doesnt need to be a tiny track. Some large tracks have lots of turns and jumps are generally technical and dont have a ton of full throttle sections in which case the 14t works great.
