How does the plastic throttle servo horn hold up?would it be wise to have a few back ups or do they make a after market aluminum?

i have not heard or seen any issues with any on this page or the team page so i think there good

i would like a alum option as well if possible to be safe but all good so far

The Tekno aluminum horn works just fine.

Throttle... As far as I'm aware, there isn't one. I vote YES YES YES on a metal one however!

Let's talk air filters. I like the braking system on the NB48 and how well it performs, but the tolerances are pretty high. Between the brake, throttle, and the air filter getting in the way, there isn't much room for give/take. 1mm plus/minus in all directions maybe it seems.

I'm on my second plastic air filter since the screws keep stripping as the pre-filter keeps catching on the linkage. I was fortunate enough that as it popped off last weekend it didn't go WOT. At $12 a pop, these are going to be more costly than bearings and glowplugs combined.

Am I doing something wrong or is there another part that works better? Love the buggy, no so fond of this combo setup at this point. To be honest, this is the only downside of the buggy I've been able to find. I tore it down again this week and all my initial diff leaks (rear and center) were fixed via the diff sanding technique. Everything else is still in great shape and going strong.

Yep, and a aluminum one would be nice, I cracked mine where the bolt goes through to attach the brake linkage. Totally my fault. But the piece of mind would be great!:)

Check your linkage, I'll take pics in the morning. I have no rubbing and definitely not interference that would cause the plastic filter to be replaced.

yeh agreed i would love to see a alum throttle and brake horn as well i am not a fan of plastic servo horns on any car

even all my 1/10th buggys even have alloy horns i dont take the chance

Well, it's not 100% the linkage I don't think. I'm thinking the bouncing weight on this screw along with the linkage occasionally catching on the pre-filter and pulling it down is causing the problem for me. I have confirmed the install, but will obviously still would like to see how others have setup theirs.

You can use the Aluminum JQ throttle horn.

I've seen a lot of people switch to the Losi air filter.

I use the MBX7 air filter setup on both my NB48 and NT48. Works great. No issues with it rubbing the inside of the body or touching the linkages.

I think I see what you're talking about (please post a pic though). Make sure the set screws on the linkage are not pointing straight up. Rotate the link so they are to the side but still accessible, then they shouldn't catch on anything. Does this make sense or am I missing the issue?

Here are the photos of my linkage.

And my set screws are pointing up(gonna change it now)

Almost ready for my first run on Saturday!

So what is the general opinion on this buggy? Any areas of concern as far as durability or wear? Handling wise? Consistant from track to track?
