tough as nails :nod: :nod: :nod: handling so many options and this thread and Tekno site very helpful for set up sheets if needed all good if you make the move you will want the truggy as well so be ready as its awesome as well :p |

The car has taken a beating from me mainly at the first race and it did finally break,but when you pound away at the left front and then finally land the car on it's side to top it off,yeah,something is going to give and the left front did. But besides that and a bent rear center drive shaft. The car has been great. Hell,in my 5th race with it,I took second(should of been first) last weekend at the Midwest Nitro race at Clark RC in Wisconsin. As for the drive shaft,I was running just one long brace in back. I've put the other short brace in and I didn't notice it bending again so running both braces must fix that. I ran the D812 over the winter and never felt comfortable with it. Ran the MBX6 last summer and never felt comfortable with it. This car,I'm feeling comfortable with and it just keeps getting better. |

I think I see what you're talking about (please post a pic though). Make sure the set screws on the linkage are not pointing straight up. Rotate the link so they are to the side but still accessible, then they shouldn't catch on anything. Does this make sense or am I missing the issue?

Go into the other manufacture threads and you see bickering, people fighting, people making fun of one another. Every Tekno thread pretty much is one of the most civilized and informative on RCTech. The company and the people that seem to pick them just... well... seem to get along and help each other. |

STeering is right up there with the best in 1/8. It feels like a new-gen, modern buggy. Love the look, and feel. I was comfortable with it right away. Looks and feels small, agile and quick. Wicked corner speed. You will constantly turn under others :sneaky: Mine weighed in at slightly over 100 grams less than an mp9, ready to run. The shocks get a special mention too. I run mine with the TiNi option shafts, and they are seriously good, even with stock setup pistons etc. There is a small downside, and that is consistency at tracks that change during the day. If you set up for slower steering on a loamy or dusty track, and it changes to blue groove or high traction, the back end will lock down and you'll want more steering, and vice versa. But this is a normal racing issue, and will affect all buggies, plus it's just my findings on the tracks I run anyway. Durability, all buggies gonna have issues, this had some, may still have some, but all said and done, no concerns for me about durability, or premature wear. SIcK buggy. |
How smooth are your diffs? I build mine as per manual, with one stock shim behind every sun gear, four lockscews aren't overtightened. But i can feel gear teeth when i pick diff and rotate out cups in opposite direction. It doesn't bind in any terms, but it isn't smooth like diff on my ebuggy. Overall performance is good, there are no signs of heavy diffs, but i'm a bit worried: is it ok for tekno vehicles to have not so butter smooth diff internals?

I also find the tekno diff's to be a little "rough" in comparison to others when tested by hand, but to be honest you won't feel it on the track. It performs smoother than other vehicles I've run.
