I've never seen a 500' straight! I've run some big tracks (Heritage probably being the biggest if not real close) but I've never worried much about top end. I favor engines with a very linear and usable power band. For me, the GRP Tuned (no longer sold but there are some clones), OS Vspecs, and the Werks B6 have fit that bill very well. I've run some others over the years but those three have been my favorite for nice, usable power with good runtime and reliability. I like to give the Reds a shot since Rossi has graced some of them and Nova is always a good choice as well (I've run a few over the years and they have been great as well). In reality, most of them are very good these days and it just comes down to personal preference in the end (dont forget Picco while you're looking).
Honestly, just pick what appeals to you as they're all good these days. You'll hear all kinds of people say X is the best and just as many say it was bad while Y was the best. This goes for most things in this hobby but is especially true with engines and buggies. I'm very bias when it comes to servos and wont recommend anything but Hitec. Radios, I've run them all and I just dont have any brand loyalty in that regard. |

Hard to tell from the pics but it doesnt look bigger than Heritage in Chula Vista. Regardless, if that is in the IE I'd love to check it out as I'm in Lake Arrowhead.

Ran Mo's setup for the first time yesterday, and it's quite fantastic. Very nimble, corners well, etc. I need to dial in some more off power steering, but overall worth a look if you're wanting to try something new or not loving the setup you have now.

First test of a NB48
Attended a race this past weekend in Mayfield, Kentucky. It was their annual "Race for a Cure", of which all proceeds go to cancer research.
Used: Tekno NB48 (first time driving a Tekno) Lutz WE engine Lutz 2107 pipe Buku composite shoe clutch Setup the buggy as per Mo's sheet with a few minor front end adjustments (the track was super slippery) Initial impressions: Drive train is super smooth. Rivals my MP9. Acceleration is incredible. Will turn inside a Mugen MBX7 Jumps and lands well. No Kyosho double bounce. Extremely durable. Many people were breaking A arms landing after the large triple jump. Used a Go Pro camera for attached You Tube video. My internet connection is very bad, thus can not tell how the video turned out. Any body had any success with a good head mounted video camera, please let me know.
