redbones,
My front and rear shocks use three hole piston and built as per the M chassis TRF instructions with the o ring under the piston. I use 50wt oil front and 40wt oil rear. I have fitted yellow TRF springs front and rear. Length as per instructions.
Regards,
Calvin.

Hi Clayton,
I run the same shocks, different springs. Depends how I think the car is reacting to the surface. My base setup is Fluro blue front(53333) and TRF short yellow rear.
Others use different spring combinations. I use what works for me , others think it is to soft on the front , but gives good steering on the MO3L.
Regards,
Calvin.

btw, you tried a spool in the front? I know I lose corner entry but probably get better forward traction. Does the merit outweigh the demerits? Too bad there are no such things as a 1way LSD like the real deal.

This is beginning to kill me!
It's like everyone on that side of the Pacific has the M-05 available to them! When are we Yanks getting them?
Yeah I could just order one but I already paid for mine in full. I am getting impatient but being the optimist I guess I can look at this as an opportunity to stockpile on my M-goodies: M-03 universals, check. M-05 titanium screws, check. TA03 diff, check. TRF flourine shocks, check. Any other recommendations?

You could hop on 99 and head up to Speedworld but then they don't have a mini class. I take it a 2 hour trip to Fremont is out of the question? Do they still race out there in Ripon?

redbones,
That is my setup for my MO3L that I posted for Clayton using the Hobbywing brushless 13T system. This works on the tracks in Sydney. Can change the front springs to the short TRF blue.
I do all of the tuning on my MO3L using different tyre combinations. What works at one track does not necessarily work at others. At a track where they use VHT, I run a front tyre that pushes through the corner rather than hooking up, as you will only traction roll. It is the initial part of the steering into the corner which causes the car to traction roll.
This I have proved through running various tyres and getting a combination or two that work.
On the MO5L I have found running in cold temperatures and surfaces that a softer insert needs to be run in the tyre.
Note these are just my observations and the above setups/advice work for me. We all drive differently and the biggest thing with a mini is to be smooth. That goes for both the MO3 and MO5. The other requirement is to practice and work on consistancy.
Later,
Calvin.

edwintklee,
It is the same front knuckle, you just need to use a long ballstud. The brass one that comes with the mini kit is used.
