It won the Memphis TCS race...so....lol

Seriously though...I liked it. It seems smaller and more agile than the Swift, yet is the same length and height. It just seemed more reactive to me without being twitchy at all.

Questions for the Core:

The body fiat body looks killer!

* I noticed the Swift wing on the window, did they allow thay in TCS?

* did you run the 6mm hex - noticed the tire rub mark on the rear fender

Yeah....they allowed it as it has no performance gain whatsoever...purely looks.

Actually I run the 5mm hexes...it was rubbing because it was dumped and the car is very soft...so it was leaning a lot!

Got my HobbyWing 13T Brushless System in!!!!

Got it installed today just in time for tomorrow's Race.

Leaving the esc settings stock for now. Well except for the Drag Brake which was a little to much for my liking.

M05 - Our First Outdoor Track Test..online now

HERE

Not a definitive test, just an impression. But...Bob Dylan looks like he got it right all those years ago - 'The times they are a-changin....'

And to quote the article at rc-mini, "Yes we got a short squirt of the M05 Wed night at carpet indoor, but that really didn't tell us anything. It just felt like a Mini!!!"

So are you saying that for us mini racers that never race outdoors, only indoors on carpet, that the performace benefits of the M-05 will be less noticeable? But, I think as long as the M-05 reduces grip-roll (or even better, eliminates it), then thats a very big plus point over the M-03!

I want my M05! It's status has been "Dispatch from outward office of exchange" for a few days now.

Does anyone know exactly what that means? Is this dispatched as in "It's been shipped, so stop worrying, Princess" or dispatched as in they've called the guy to come over and load up the plane, but he's too busy enjoying a sandwich to bother?

nice write up. felt exactly the same when I drove it back to back with my m03. I could use grippier fronts and get away with it which equates to a faster car. Now I need to start tweaking the suspension to better match the new weight distribution and shock angle. Plus, I just dig the way the new chassis looks.

Well....very probably yes.

Our only indoor carpet track is relatively small, and we only run silver can motors there. And as such we can easily run an M03 without any added weight with no issue at all. We never have any traction roll issues. Outdoors (with Hobbywing 13t systems) running without weight is suicide!

From the quick run we had Wednesday night indoors my (unweighted) M03 and M05 felt very similar.
Maybe on a larger carpet track it may be different? Not sure.

But in a situation where the performance aspect is similar, I'd pick the M03 any time purely because it's easier to work on.

I have to agree the MO3 is heaps easier to work on. The MO5 is time consuming. I dread having to replace a broken ball diff. The car will require almost a complete tear down.

It would be easier to have a second car on standby duties.

This might not be necessary if a new ball diff is released.

CYA ,

Calvin

My Mo-3 a LONG time ago when it was new and not beat up from years of hard racing.

Default MO5 AT TRACK

Here are some photo's of my MO5L taken at my local track today. I experimented with tyre combinations and setup. Must say I am very impressed with the car and had no traction roll problems. The car is very stable and is very responsive.. The most I could induce was a rear end slide with a poor choice of tyres.

Regards,

Calvin.
