Tamiya Ta06

Not too many traffic here . Been reading up on this chassis ever since my son won one. This car was a fun build. Love the overall lay out but still playing around how the electronics should go. Not a big fan of wiring running in between the belt. But may run it that way for now. In the long run I can see issue with maintenance. Coming from double deck chassis where 4 screws would get you to the rear diff. I think I counted 13 screws? not complaining just an observation. My son will race this weekend, we will see how this compares to others. Hopefully we can work out the kinks so that we could use this for GT3 next season. Did I mention I like the layout? lol

I agree that running all of the ESC wires through the belt is annoying. In fact, I had all of my electronics on the left side for a while to avoid this. Now I have switched to having the servo on the right side using the steering arm from the TA06MS. Someone has done a nice writeup of the conversion here.

Discover another issue. Our R1 Wurks battery pack's tube connectors are blocked by the rear braces. I don't think it would be good to notch these bracing either. And I'm not about to purchase new packs just for this car. So I've turned the pack around 180* add two new elongated holes on the chassis for the bullets to make the connection. Hope this will be TCS legal. After finished up the build and completed the setting, now unfortunately the car is not balance left and right. Probably due to the full size servo I am using. I didn't even have enough weight to add and I've added 25 grams and it was still leaning. More work to be done. I have to look in to that MS right side conversion, look promising. More importantly why didn't Tamiya engineers thought of this from the beginning?

Got bored, so rewired everything

Have you checked the balance like that?

I think I would leave the ESC on the side. The wires crossing tend to be a non issue in reality if done cleanly.
Extra weight up high is the worst place it can be.
I like the servo reverse though - looks neat.

Anybody has tried the TA06MS here as compared to the regular ta06?

Got a used TA-06 Pro off the classifieds and wanted to know if i want to convert the suspension to TRF418, all i need to buy are the arms, hub carriers, knuckles and rear hubs right? Everything else should fit?

Playing around some more with this car, getting ready for TCS. I know it is not the chassis of choice, it's all about having fun
