This will be my first TCS, well racing in general in many many years! Typically I'm just the mechanic for all my son's cars including this one. This chassis is just fun to wrench not because it is simple, it is challenging.

The body looks great, but damn, the wiring arrangement looks terrible. (not your fault.) I think I'd put the ESC on the same side as the servo, so the thick motor and battery wires don't have to pass through the belt, and the thin 3-wire harnesses for the ESC and servo could snake down the side of the battery box to get to the receiver underneath the belt. But the fact that the belt is completely exposed, combined with having a bottom-load battery tray that doesn't actually do anything to manage the battery wires, is a big problem. How are you supposed to keep the battery plug from flopping around and banging into the belt while the car is moving? You'd have to take the body shell off to properly secure the battery plug to keep it from flopping around, which ruins any convenience you might get from the bottom-load battery tray. At least my XV-01s have the electronics stuffed into a little covered box next to the battery tray, so the battery plug is automatically contained.

If you can still find the R-Sector RS6 conversion chassis it swaps the servo and ESC mounting locations, which makes the wiring much more manageable. The battery box also loads from the top. Tamiya released a TA06MS kit a year or two ago that also has the servo and ESC positions swapped. If you can't find either of those, then Tamiya did eventually release the TA06MS steering bellcrank so you can use it with a standard TA06. This is the critical part needed to make the ESC/servo position swap possible. With the servo and ESC swapped it's just a small servo lead that needs to pass between the belts (or between the motor and battery box if you plan ahead).

When using the R-Sector RS6 conversion, do the body post retain their origonal position? I'm going to be building a TA06 w/ this conversion and want to use a Tamiya 50769*3200 Nissan R390 GT1 body.

I saw that conversion kit. It looks great. I'm not in the market for carbon-fiber chassis, though. I don't have pavement clean enough to drive on. CF would get torn up really fast. Carbon-reinforced nylon holds up a lot better when there's grit and gravel on the road surface.

Try to order the ta06ms RHS steering arm and the carbon side brace then you can mount the servo on RHS

I broke mine and I would really like to replace the cup instead of buying the whole diff
