I ran my new TA06 for the first time on High Bite carpet in USGT using the USGT spec tire. Shattered both Chubs on the 1st run. Not a good start. Rear end had no side bite. Shocks were Blue F/ Yellow R. Went to Red in the rear was improved but still sliding out in the fast corners. Added .5mm in the rear under the Hinge Pin blocks and laid the rear shocks in 2 holes from Stock. Much better but I feel it needs more under the hinge pin blocks. Anyone run this car on High Bite as GT3 or USGT? Would like to know if I am moving my setup in the right direction since practice time is limited with my local track closed.

In general yes you are going in the right direction. You can also try add 1mm more drop to the back. High bite should not be hard to get the car to grip. Run and heavier sway bar in the front along with heavier oil. Like 10 weight more int he front vs the rear. Make sure you have the right arm mount blocks to give you 3 degrees of toe in the back.

I would go through the car again and make sure everything measures out and tweak right. The best think to do if you are not very good with setup is ask the local racer to help with the car.

I just mounted the short damper stays and the 42273 TRF short dampers on my TA06. The problem I'm having is that with the springs installed I can't get my ride height down to 5mm. I have Yokomo springs on right now and the lowest I could go was about 7-7.5mm. With the included Tamiya springs I get a ride height of 8.5mm. Are there shorter springs I'm supposed to be using with these short dampers?

I had exactly the same problem

You can use the trf short springs but those are really short, with those I had to turn up to 12 rotations to get the correct height:

The best ones for the short dampers are the matched large dia springs from ride, need like 5-6 turns to get 5.5 mm, 7 diff ones:

I don't like the short dampers on the ta06 they don't seem to be designed for that car, droop settings are also problematic with the short dampers

I don't have any problem with short damper stays and the 42273 TRF short dampers with Tamiya spring on our TA06 for Tamiya world. we set the ride high is about 5.2mm and should have no problem to set it below 5mm.

Thanks for your suggestions. Good to know I wasn't the only one with this issue. I think the Ride red springs I have might work but I use those for outdoors. I mostly race indoors on carpet so I'm not sure which of the short Tamiya or Ride springs would work best.

I'm not sure how you were able to set your ride height that low because with the spring retaining nut backed off all the way to the top I still couldn't get the proper ride height.

that must be the problem, i have a ta06r
the 418 suspension is great, but the include shocks are no good
can't get the car lower than 7-8mm and droop settings are limited too

Default Which TA06 is the latest?

I m joining Tamiya series race in my country and the rules said it has to be Tamiya kit with plastic type chassis. I m debating between TA06 and TB04 Pro 2. If I want to get the TA06, which one has the better package? There are a few TA06 with different package #. Like below.....

#58492 TA06 PRO

#84379 TA06 R

#84330 TA06 PRO

#92243 TA06 PRO

the TA06 R.

Is your track technical or high speed? TA06 is better handling but lower top speed than TB04 Pro 2.

(I have both)

Thanks for your input, our track is hi speed, long straight and sweeping corners, quite big but the grip level is low to medium. Any reason why it is slower on top speed? Even both with same motor and fdr?

The ta06 driveline has a lot more friction holding it back.

Really if you can find a decent ta05 one of those would be better than the ta06 in most conditions.
