I am running the hardend uni's from the Mr4 car. Would you think these would hold up well to the spool? Also does the speedtech part come with the gear or do I need to have one to put on it?

Thanks

Jeff

I've been using the hardened universals on my car with a spool for the past couple of weeks and they're fine, I've actually been running them pretty much since I got the SD a year ago. They're the best thing you can do to the front of the car IMO.

My SSG turns a year old this month and i have been more than happy with it the past year of racing. I really do not have any major complaints except for a few things.

I run both front and rear diffs, and ever since ive had this kit i noticed that i regularly snap the long screw that tightens the diffs. I double check and make sure that i build them correctly every time, also making sure that it is well lubed and set not too tight or too loose but still i snap them. Can anyone recommend me a replacement part that is more durable? or are there any tips you recommend to avoid this from happening?

Also, i know the king pin issue (working its way loose) has been adressed on here. Do you recommend using alum carriers or do they bend and wear easy, creating play. Any tips i could try out to make them stay on? thanks in advance.

Best thing you can do about the diff screw breaking is not to over tighten it. Everytime I've seen a broken diff screw there are way too many treads on the other side of the nut. Be careful, if you run it too loose you can melt the plastic diff half.

We have been running the new lightweight kingpins and they fit very nicely, also they have not been coming loose at all. Perhaps you could use just a very small drop of lock-tight on the kingpins to secure them better.

Becareful with thread lock. Some thread lock will melt plastic.
Read instruction on the thread lock before use.

I think that's a little too big. I don't remember exactly what the biggest spur gear size you can fit on the car is but I "think" it was between 110-115
