Why are people using stick packs? The XX4 was setup for saddle packs.

Saddle packs are a PITA . Plus I already had stick packs and didn`t want to buy saddles just for this buggy . Many people that run xx4 run a setup like this . Also lipo saddle packs are not as easy to get as stick packs .

Running stick lipo's isn't that bad as far as balance goes because of their lighter weight. So like mentioned above, stick packs are far easier and cheaper to obtiain.

Im trying to fit my smc in but cant see how I can without grinding off the little tabs that the battery top plate hooks onto (on the belt cover). I notice in the pics the stick packs that fit have rounded edges, my smc has square edges.

What size is your SMC ? My Trinity 3800and SMC 3200 lipos fit great and my Reedy 5000 will not fit at all unless I do some grinding , which I am still deciding on that .

Briguy:

Ok, thanks....

Can someone that is using Roar approved Lipo saddle packs in their XX-4's let me know the brand name and mah of the ones they are using. I would rather not remove material from the center belt cover to use my SMC 4900's.

thanks....

Even 4900 saddle packs will have the same problem . If you don`t want to do any modification to the chassis you will need lower mah lipos . This buggy was designed for Nicads and Nimh batteries . You might be able to fit soft case lipos with a high mah . Measure the buggy and look online at the specs .

I am using thunder power saddle packs 5000 mah. I just grind off the battery hold down nubs on the belt cover. Now they fit like a glove. I am never going back to ni-mh or ni-cd so i wont need the battery hold down straps anymore!
