You see... I hate to not finish a race! The towers were taking a beeting so I added a Penguin brace.. It still broke. So now I cut the top off some spare plastic towers and double them up! Never broke one again. Adds like two grams to the car. Here is another pic... People laugh, with 10 years of racing under my belt you know what you have to do...LOL Does not change shock angle whatsoever!

maybe if the carbon fibre braces were thicker that would be all you need with 1x std shocktower..as the ones in the pic look very thin..I just got some of the xfactory carbon braces and they are way thicker.

Here's mine, these are the braces from fibre-lyte in the uk but they are very similar to the xfactory ones, i've never broken a rear tower and have only cracked the molded front tower which means you can still finish your race, i doubt you will ever break both the molded and carbon one when bolted together, those penguin braces are so thin you can snap them with your fingers.

Does anyone know if XFactory are sold in stores? Looking at around $27 - $32 for international freight from XFactory. Can get a whole buggy sent for the same price Might try and see if I can purchase those fibre-lyte ones

Thanks, ill check them out

What would be a better servo to use for steering? Hitec HS-5645MG, Hitec HS-5645MG or HS-925MG? I only have a choice of those 3 at the moment as I am after one in a hurry. I was using a Air 94358Z in my XXX-4 but that servo was mainly bought for the REVO

that is ghetto as with two shock towers. if you flip over that much you should get one of those tyco cars from kb toys that you can drive up side down or right side up. i am going to go get my shotgun now

Before you shoot your mouth off any more you might be interested to know that this is a common mod for guys running on rough tracks and/or with big jumps as running on the outer upper shock holes often leads to blown up shock towers on hard landings. Another reason for bracing is that the front tower's camber link holes are prone to cracking and running a brace helps keep this from happening as often. Lastly another good reason is when you run on a track with anything big and heavy that might land on you hit you head on going the wrong way. This mod is not just a solution for people who flip alot.

Hmmm i have no idea about hitec servos, as long as its relatively quik and has metal gears it should be ok, i've never run a servo saver on mine and have'nt had any troubles yet, i think the built in flex in the first 2 servo links as in the one on the servo and the next one are enough to provide a bit of give.
