Some pictures of the XX4 I am almost done building. I built it to be a racer, with attention to reducing drivetrain drag and increasing strength. Last picture is next to my XX4 shelfer.

Not sure if you still have this stuff, but I need a uncracked front bumper and could use a few front bulkheads.

Wow those are awesome builds. I wish I still had my xx-4 when I raced in the early 2000s. I even had the xxx4 and after numerous breakages and a cracked chassis I fixed and sold it and kept the xx4.

Is that at a high grip slicks track or is it dirt with treads? Well those look like carpet tires that are on it now. I wouldn't want to regularly run a vintage car on slicks. Although with a 13.5 build it might be ok.

Been following your build over at the other forum, it's impressive, Your attention to details in insane!

I have been working on my own, regular XX-4 to make it into a runner again after years of sitting in a cellar. Here's where I'm at so far. I plan on running a shorty Lipo on the left side and electronics on the right like the 22-4 Have a few issues to address, I need to find matching front CVD bones since what I have is mismatched one side is aluminum and the other steel and both their matching pairs were damaged long ago. I also want to do the steering upgrade at some point too like alavigna did. Need to get another set of electronics so I don't have to disassemble other cars to run it.

Default XX-4

Maybe the 22-4 on the bellcranks? That is a fantastic build and great photos to boot. I'd like to see more detail on the carbon braces for the graphite towers; that, to me is the hidden gems of this car.
I remember the first time I saw a Novak Atom. I thought they were impossibly small. For the brushless set up to be comparable in size is impressive.

Yeah they're 22-4 bellcranks with the ends machined down to fit the xx4 imperial bearings and for the carbon braces, a few companies made them I know the now closed Rusty Design shop used to make them aswell, I have a couple sets on my xx4s aswell , very nice piece to race them.
Those and the rear arms pivot in aluminum are a must in my opinion.

It is sad that Rusti stopped but good thing is https://www.moto-obscura.com/collections/team-losi is now making some of the aluminum bits for the XX4. They have the motor hold down, servo mount and an upcoming front bulkhead along with some front hex adapters for using modern wheels.

As far as tower braces I'm running the Penguin RC ones myself. The website is old but they do still make the parts https://www.penguinrc.com/ordering/q...quickshop.html.

Also my XX4 is finally runnable. Not nearly as nice as some of the other ones here but this car has been through a lot during it's life.

I also picked up an X-Factory X-5 converted XX4 on here a couple weeks ago as well. Can't wait to get that one running too which came with a few nice bodies like the one that's on the XX4 now.

I definitely don't regret my purchase, it's in great shape. Just have to do some minor changes and get some running gear in it. Might even try to run it at the vintage nats next year.

Standing by my comment a long way up in this thread. The cars posted recently still look great.
