I have problem with the slipper adjustment.
I adjust the slipper when the belts not making nose (klak klak)
After 10 min the slipper over het and the puly slipper are melted.
I run the xx4 with Tekin motor 448 pinion 16 spur gear 82.
Anybody have a suggestion?

You have WAY to much motor in the buggy for the start of things . That is a 4 turn motor which is designed for on-road car applications . You are also way over geared and both of these issues is why you are overheating the car and melting things . Not even sure you could gear that motor correctly . Can try running a 12 tooth pinion and 84 or 86 spur . Which might not be enough . The most motor you want in this car is a 6.5 turn brushless .

I run the same motor, works fine. Gear 22/82? Purple !
Set the belts on the second loosest setting in the rear! Only slip a little on the slipper!

I use eclips on the front, where the brace is, and nylon nuts on the opposite side (near the chassis). Works perfect.

The 448 is a 4T motor but the kv isn't rediculous. Matter of fact that still is my favorite sensorless wheeler motor!

I have been tinkering with mine since I got my other cars done.
I had to dremel some of top of the rear hub carrier to fit the jconcepts rulux wheels on it.
But they do fit now, I'm surprized that the parts seem beefier than I thought, I'm guessing graphite composite plastic.

The front wasnt binding at all it was the rear. The rear rims were rubbing against the top of the rear hub carrier. Dremeled it and now they are free!
The last piece of this project is some front shocks. I plan on buying new fronts.

Default XX4 Drag

My XX4 seems like there's too much drag. I've loosened the clicker all the way but it still seems like it's slowing down way too much on decelleration.

Suggestions?

Is your drive train free? If so, how is your drag brake setting on your speedo? You geared really low?

Yes drivetrain is free and all belts are pulling smooth on inspection. Spur gear is purple. Need to check on the pinion as I don't recall what is on there. It's an old brushed ESC and motor so I'll have to pull up the manual online and check settings.

How much drag should be on the drivetrain? I just got a used XX4 and it seems like there is a ton of drag on the system. the slipper shaft spins very freely as well as the layshaft for the rear belt. The bearings for the diffs don't feel gritty, but maybe from sitting up they just aren't nearly as free as the others. Also, are the "belt rollers" totally necessary? Any other tricks to really make the most efficient drivetrain possible on this buggy?

Didn`t realize the KV are that low , most other 4T motors have around double the KV .

I`m not sure how familiar a few of you guys are with the xx4 . But there is gonna be some drag , especially compared to a shaft driven 4wd buggy or 2wd buggy . Remember that there are 3 belts .

this car has alot of drag like Briguy said.
i don't run the belt rollers, the xx4 worlds manuel say's to not use them. also what tension do you have the rear belt set at. i run a 13.5 in my xx4 with b forward and it feels pretty good.
