Charts for Quick reference:

1) put inner bearing in hub
2) slide large shim over axle all the way up to the back of the axle
3) slide axle/bone into hub carrier
4) slide small shim onto axle through hub carrier
5) push outter bearing into hub carrier

using that i'm able to put my normal male silverback gorilla wheel nut tightening job and there's no binding. in the pictures that come with the shims (the pic socket posted) it seems like they want you to slide both shims onto the axle before sliding the axle into the hub carrier and like i said, that doesn't work.

I've traditionally done the diff screw head on the left side (driver's side), but have since switched to the Right side (passenger side) regardless of transmission type (3 gear RM vs 3 gear MM and 4 gear MM).

Kdub (Kurt Wenger, former AE designer) had this to say on the matter:

The right rear is the way the AE manuals state (or used to state). It really shouldn't matter since you go around turns both left and right.

What about a b6d in dust / grass ? Will the spur gear survive without protection ?
Most components are just as durable between the platforms. The plastic towers are more durable than the carbon fiber on the B6, but you can install the FRP towers from the B6 Club Racer or find aftermarket carbon fiber ones that are thicker. They aren't weak by any means, but they are the weakest point on the car.

I would just add lead. JB Weld isn't as dense as brass and wouldn't add much weight back.

Does anyone mess with the c and d block inserts much? I see in most setup sheets everyone is running 1up on c block and .5 up on d block. Just curious what everyone else is running on high bite clay? Also what would you run for the inserts on a slick tire track?

So with the new mod of drilling a 3rd inner shock mount hole on the rear arms, curious if anyone has tried using Yokomo YZ-2 rear arms (which already have a 3rd inner hole)....?

I don't have any handy to measure, so was curious before buying some to potentially try.

People keep talking about the B6's and B64's on sale and all the talk about
new updated cars etc. I was doing some surfing looking at prices and found that they are a bit cheaper everywhere so who knows. What I found odd was that every place I check has stock on the cars but Tower. Even Horizon has stock on the cars. Tower was out of stock last week and still is this week. Same results on a lot of Reedy products. Lots of items say "on order" vs a eta.

If my local shop did not have something Tower was the go to place for the last several years for AE but seems not right now....... Seems odd especially with Horizon picking up AE recently.

Towers parent company isn't doing all that well right now which might explain what you have noticed.

Hobbico just did a big layoff. Apparently, Traxxas is suing them for patent infringement also.

And Tower stopped selling Traxxas cars, which I'm sure hurts Tower sales quite a bit.

tower may be on it's way out. Honestly, the hobby as a whole seems to be falling off. I though maybe quad copters would help the hobby shops out

When I saw AE back at Horizon I was wondering the same thing.
