Most everyone I've come across were running the equivalent. Almost everyone I know that races, at least around here, are running big bores already (some were running Kyosho big bores before the AE ones), an AVID rack, and some sort of different slipper (most seem to be running the AVID). That just leaves the possibility of a slightly different shock tower that others have shaved.

These will definitely sell as those serious about racing seem to frequently refresh (replace) their cars, particularly before big races (Cactus is coming up here in AZ). If this kit didn't exist, many would be buying the 4.1 FT WC and just upgrading the components. As someone else stated, this makes it cheaper since the parts are already included. I for one built a new T4.1FT last week even know I knew I'd have to upgrade everything. Granted I was hoping the announcement of the T4.2 would come a few months after the B4.2, so I'm slightly screwed, but I did get $45 off so not as screwed as I could have been.

Finished mine today. Pretty much standard B4 build. Ae changed a couple of the screws and balls stud lengths but that is all. Oh how I love fresh new kits!!

Nice, hopefully it isn't more blown out than hurricane Sandy in 3 weeks:tire:

Hey guys I have a front tire question. Currently at ocrc (indoor clay/med-high bite) I have been running gold bar codes all around with proline closed cell inserts. Im also breaking in a gold bar codes front with aka foam to compare with the proline foam as well but I was told the PL MC suburbs are more aggressive in the front so I picked a front set today. The buggy is pretty dialed in so this comparison is just for my own experience. My question is that should I put them together with proline closed cell foam or the provided foam? I already purchased the proline closed cell. The provided foam looks to be rear tire size. My plan was to use the proline closed cell so the comparison was equal to the experience I have with the barcodes.

Thanks for the suggestions

As long as tires last on that track, I would put in the closed cell.

Didn't want to be on the pre-order list at AMain. I called and a lady said that list was pretty extensive... :(

My local shop, Strictly RC, had a few in so I grabbed one! If you don't want to wait for the online retailers I know they said they would ship wherever if people wanted it and called. 708.456.9100. :) Now I have a new 22 and .2 LOL

I've always been a fan of the standard foam in the front tires over the closed cell. To me i get more steering out of the stock stuff. I went down to OCRC a couple weeks ago and ran Gold Barcodes front and rear with closed cell in the rear and stock up front. Sauced with the Sticky Kicks white stuff and my car was great.

my LHS called me today and said my buggy is ready to be picked up. Going to take her out for a joy ride on saturday. Woot.

I am beginning to like CC front foams. They provide a more neutral feel to the front end when traction levels start to rise. Also preferred on smoother surfaces.

Can't wait to start seeing some detailed pics, particularly of the difference in the shock tower to clear the big bores. Some of you have to be cracking the box on your new kits as this afternoon progresses...

:D Well since I found out I'll only be TDY'ing for a month I went ahead and bought one from towerhobbies. So for those with supersaver discount get yours now for $240 with free shipping :D

+1 I am also very interested in the new shock towers. just dont break one because the shops dont have the updated towers yet :-)

Ended up putting the suburbs together with the proline closed cell foam. Figure to have a good comparison between the barcodes I should use the same foam. Gonna try em out at practice today.

I dunno if its me but I think its funny how the b4 has been out for years and it still wins. Wondering if we hit the engineering wall. I came across some old 90s rc mags I have and its funny how they look so similar to back then. The thing that has changed most chassis wise seems the shocks and guessing its the current bottleneck?
