whats a good setup for a med size clay based track. Running a 4.5 550 and a novak gtb2. Interested in the best bang for your buck upgrades.

what all do you have right now for SC10 4x4?

Is the clay track smooth, bumpy, does it have big jumps, etc?

What is your gearing, esc settings, motor can timing, an belt tension settings? When did you rebuild your diffs last? Are you running stock slipper or vts? When was the last time you checked your bearings through out the truck? The more info you give us the better.

Unfortunately, my X-12L 4.5 motor was disappointing and had temp issues as well. And I'm not the only other one. I switched brands of motors but kept my tc spec.

I feel your pain. Ran my truck this past Saturday and I couldn't keep it from wondering down the straight, or spinning out of control at the end of it. Sometimes it pulls to the left. I've taken it apart, cleaned it, replaced bearings, tried toe-in, neutral, toe-out... The truck just won't drive right. Think I'm gonna sell my back up truck to help pay for a new ft kit and start fresh.

I dont understand the pain so many have. Once I got the ball diff in mine, put on the rear exotek hubs and did various +8 or less setups on the rear I have had no issues. Im constantly fast on my local indoor track, and love this truck now.

I guess it all boils down to driving style? Im very picky too at how I setup and it seems to work well for me.

The C-diff spur's are highway robbery. That's why the VTS is back in my truck.

(I hand drilled the V1 spurs myself and a machine stamps out 10 in minutes.)

seriously, the truck is not overall bad and it is fast, BUT the diffs are the biggest shit i've ever seen

Bad servo or defective transmitter steering pot?

You cant hand drill the pin holes for V2 Shaun, Its a little more complicated than that. I am sorry that my CNC mill cost 20k and i have overhead to pay. But I guess its perfectly ok to pay 40.00 for a lexan body that literally cost 2.00 to make....... or 20.00 for two Rubber tires ( how many sets of wheels and tires do you own?) I am not AE and dont make 100k spur gears at a time! Thats why they only cost 4.00 from them. I have to buy from AE (at retail) ship them to me, machine a one time fixture, circular interpolate 10 holes and pin holes, clean the spurs as best i can bag and tag. honestly Shaun I am a little offended by your statement, i dont think that you thought it through or dont understand how business and/or overhead work. Its not easy man, not at all. BTW, I charge 1.00 a minute for anything i do which equals 60.00 per hour, if it took you 10 minutes to drill the holes plus the spur gear that means it cost you about 14.00 to hand machine your spur!! Would have been cheaper to order one from me and it would have been perfect AND have the V2 pin holes. See how that works out?

Actually i mis-read what you said. What machine do you know of that stamps out 10 in munutes? mine does not, first off you cant stamp out plastic it either has to be molded (which the AE spurs are) or machined which would take 3 operations (pocket on ones side and holes, pocket on opposite side and then machine the teeth on a gear cutter). The plastic that the AE spurs are made of is not machine able plastic and kicks up nasty burs so it has to be cut at a very specific speed and feed to minimize the burs, and even then you have to replace a 20.00 tool every 6-7 spurs or spend 10min trying to debur. As you can tell its not a simple as taking a Black and Decker drill and poking some holes!

As I stated, V1.

And yes, it really is as easy as a "black and decker drill and poking some holes". I did it all through V1 and it worked fine. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to follow one of your spurs clamped together on a drill press for even further precision either. (those V2 tiny little pin holes change things for my ability to manufacture them myself)

I'm not paying 40 dollars for 3 spur gears, Marcus. It doesn't attack your product, because it is superior to the VTS in my opinion. I was one of the first to buy your stuff. But due to the wobble of the spur and how much I drive, mine rounds and starts to become loud and I replace it. I pay 2.50 for VTS, 11.99 without shipping for yours. That's an entire day practice fee difference. I appreciate the care taken with burrs and that nonsense, but unless you're melting the plastic it only takes a second time through to "de-bur" my spurs.

Your precision and respect for our best interest is awesome and commendable but 11.99 is too much for a plastic gear with holes drilled in it for me. I've defended you on a dozen occasions I can think off the top of my head but it's become a long standing theme that if anyone says anything negative about you in any form, it causes an uproar of large scale and it has become tiring.

(My stamp comment was just a thrown out slang'd word, it was not meant to be taken literally, my bad)
