Kody , belts offer more traction because the belt behave like a shock absorber & soak up bumps & hard landings better then a shaft ..

Belt also offers less wheel spin for the ft wheels...

My local hobby shop had them. At first glance I thought they were 2WD diff cases in the wrong package. Suppliers must be shipping them now. But again, gotta love AE for not saying anything or updating part numbers

No need for new part # announcement if the number did not change .

Running changes are the norm for Ae , they are always making improvements on parts .

kind of circular logic there WC?

In general if you want to make sure you get the latest part and don't have a LHS to get it from so you can view it first hand, you need something to distinguish from the old part and the new one like a new part number.

Belts are used now because they can manage to get traction to the ground better from very high powered brushless motors and ESCs....Belts are way less efficient then shafts, and they rob some of the power out of the drive train, thus making it easier to drive....Shafts are 100% efficient and transfer ALL of the power to the drive train and sometimes makes it a handful to handle, depending on the ESC and motor you're running....it's in what you prefer, or can handle...

The ONLY thing I like about belt drive, is that they run really quiet, while shafts make a lot more noise when they run....but for me, I'll still take a shaft drive vehicle over a belt drive one ANYDAY!!....This is the main reason I refuse to buy the SC10 4x4....Regardless as to how well the belt holds up, I just hate belt drive.....(my 2 cents)

Ok now what about all the guys who are going to make orders for new diff cases. Then when the old part arrives, I'm sure they will enjoy that.

How are we suppose to be sure we are getting the newest part?

The other night at the races I heard that AE was coming out with a shaft drive rtr version of the SC10 4x4. No other info about any changes. I didn't hear anything about release dates just lhs preordering.
