It was one of my friends that I showed up with, and he actually had bar codes on them so they were the right tires. The issue I was having driving it was his controller, his Spektrm DX3S had a really loose trigger and he had his throttle EPA up really high.......... So everytime I tried to get on the throttle I had to push it in more then I'm used to for low end and since his throttle was crazy high it would take off very easily.....

Yeah, I remember it was your friends 1/8 but didn't know it had barcodes.

Funny how someone elses tx setup can make so much of a difference. If I use one with a loose wheel and trigger I drive like a fool for a lap or two and just lame the rest of the time.
And EPA, expo, dead zone... so much that it can make driving two identical trucks completely different.

See you soon :tire:

Yeah I'll be heading out to more tracks down the hill, I want to get better and get in as much wheel time as I can. The guys I run with plan on entering the electric JBRL series next year so we are trying to get ready for that. So I'm actually going to be making my sc10 a shelf queen for a little while and concentrate more on my two buggies.........

on a side note. who here believes in radio lag? Because I think I might be getting some radio lag. Please dont ask me which radio i have and suggest I get a spektrum like 90% of the people out there, lol. Just asking if you believe and radio lag and what it feels like to you.

It does exist. Most good radios in the last ten years have a form of fast rate that you can enable. But your servo needs to be up for the task... I think just that it's digital.

I run FM, you don't need to go 2.4 if your not now, you just need a good radio.
Actually, FM is awesome now. A majority of people run 2.4 so there is almost never anyone on FM at the track let alone the chance of them being on my channel.

@snafu, I after i replaced my rear diff shims and diff oil, I reassembled my car and left the rear belt off, it spun the same if I put the slipper on or not, so I dunno what is binding on yours.

I beat my record, only 1 hour this time to reshim and change diff fluid........ lol. I will give the truck this, it really handles was on black top....... lol. I put the exotek front locker in. The only difference I could tell in the street is that the front tire peeled out and the rear slipped. I could actually see the front pull the rear around. Hopefully this helps me on the track. This is the last mod/upgrade.part i plan on buying. Really hope the truck is drivable now. does not have to win every race, just drive in a straight line.

get a Airtronics and call it a day. Just my opinion.

lol, darn you, I said dont suggest a new radio, lol. I ask what it feels like to you. Mine feel like turbo lag. I rip the trigger and it paused then goes like a bat out of hell, lol. Would a low C rating cause the same issue? My pack is room temp. no heat.

Wildcat1971 07-18-2012 06:23 PM

I had an airtrinocs m8 and sold it for a 2.4 ghz radio. I wont say which one, because every issue i have will be blamed on my radio lol. I will come here and be like, my truck is pushing and people will say its your radio..... lol

I really liked my M8, but I think i was glitching, and wanted to go 2.4 ghz after some guys were teasing me about my "sword" lol.

no that's kind of weird. Is there a setting to adjust?

I would call their tech line.

Otherwise sell/junk that radio and get the Airtronics!

Wildcat1971 07-18-2012 06:30 PM

well, I changed motors, and the esc and it still exists. The drive line is free. Its not binding. But when you trying to come out of a corner and it pauses, so i give it a little more gas and boom, I get it all at once start bouncing off pipes. It is kinda hard to drive to tell you the truth. I am use DR on the radio. my dr is at 50%, would that do it? I thought DR was steering only.

a friends spektrum dx3s did the same thing only way to get it any better was to lower the neutral range on the esc, and then turn the throttle trim so the wheels would just move while at neutral then back the throttle trim off 2-3 clicks.

im curious if it has something to do with the internal spring on the throttle.

add: also maybe the minimum drive is set high on your speed control.

Wildcat1971 07-18-2012 06:38 PM

I used the same radio with my b4 and dont notice the issue. But i dont use DR on my b4. So it could be a faulty receiver I guess. I will check the neutral on the esc. I can narrow that. But it also does it from 1/4 throttle to full throttle. If i coast at 1/4 throttle then punch it, it will pause then explode with power. Does not do this on the bench with wheels off the ground....... Thats why I asked about C rating.

Wildcat1971 07-18-2012 06:40 PM

also, I dont use expo, I like my throttle and steering linear. I only set center, end points and DR for my truck to calm the steering.

what's your expo at?

Try zero and see if that fixes your issue and then add expo to your liking. You really shouldn't be over 20% max though. Especially if you have a curve built into your esc on top of expo... oh man.

Edit: DR is travel adjustment... steering only. No effect on expo. But expo is steering and throttle.
