here's the video. Big outdoor track that a losi should theoretically dominate, especially for "serious" drivers at a short course nationals race: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzz0YHWs8dc
Dude there is NO dust on that track, compared to our type tracks that would be like racing on carpet. I've worked very hard on my SC10 over the last year, read my other posts, the thing is I can beat the other guys in most classes, guys I used to lap in SC4X4 sold there SC10 and got the Losi, now there kicking my butt. The issue I have is to make the truck drivable in a straight line, on a loose track, you NEED to reduce the rear drive, just a little, but enough that the other tracks just power past, the only fix I can see for this, is a center diff. My truck drives great, is on rails, just to slow out of turns to beat the other trucks here, and if you look at my sig you will see a Losi 8E, and yes I do win with that, IMO the SC10 needs a real center diff to foot it on outdoor loose tracks. |
I kinda wish AE would build a better C diff for it. For now I will trying locking the front slipper out.
|
If I can get someone to film my truck on a loose loamy track today I will. You can make the sc10 work.
Losi does handle out of the box better, but durability and wear on parts and the famous 'Losi slop' is crap. |
I think my truck is now close.... Hopefully I can hit the track tonight and get some laps in. I am feeling pretty good about the locked front slipper.

lol, I actually like the truck on loose. I even like in on blue groove. Wet soft outside clay is my issue. Might be my tires though.

Center diff and 8mm mod will make the truck much easier to drive outdoors. My truck was a handful last year, w/ the 2 above mods, it's much/much/much better......... |
K here's my report back on the exotek locked slipper.
Just added it without changing any fluids. I have been running 15k front and 5k rear on a tight indoor clay track. It felt like it made the truck more stable overall, especially when hammering the throttle and high speeds down the straight and into the sweeper. Also quicker acceleration out of corners. The truck did not push any extra. Steering was the same with or without. I will be keeping it on the truck for now. |

its it makes the truck go straight, I will call it a win. I always liked the rotation in the corners. I just need it to be more stable when going straight. When ever i pul lthe trigger, I /pray

WC, I have the vts, it did almost nothing for me. maybe you use the HD inner pad, I never used one.

I have the VTS outside and exotek clutch up front. And jake it does lock the slipper for the front, lol.... I think if they had released several different pads(more than 2) then you could have better tuned the front/rear. Right now, I have the vts to control the rear. Might get the garo discs for it because they last longer and the front is locked. The HD pad would make the front slip less than the std pad, but maybe not enough. But I can always get an HD pad, a inside garo disk, a locker and the stock pad for tuning purposes. Then install what I need. The RCShox is probably good, but i dont underand the whole 4 pin stuff for tuning and....The cost is pretty steep. And it requires special spur gears. granted I could probably drill out my own, but me and drills dont get a long.

so when it comes to friction.
The HD is more friction than the Stock.. ok easy. where does the garodisc(s) come into the equation. I know they last longer. But do they have more or less friction than the AE HD. |
