SC10 4x4 Thread
In any case, i've just been running the MTK basket(nut flush, HD pad for front & stock + HD pad for rear) paired with a Hi-Torque Ballistic 4.5 and eat idler gears at least once a month. Yes it may be a high-bite track and my driving style i would say is fairly aggressive
but it'd be nice to push the truck around like any other SC truck and not worry about my rear gearbox idler gear every time i race. Even outdoors on a loose track it cost me a trophy race after TQ and leading before the last 3 laps where the idler shitted on me
Oh and i've also tried the hotracing steel idler
and that lasted longer but eventually went out as well. I think delrin sounds like it may be the answer. Something definately stronger than the stock material is needed but nothing that'll divert the tranny stress to something else.

Got confirmation from Scott , yeah he won ...
Was a three way tie , had to go
down to the 2 fastest mains combined ...
So those who claim my set-up advise is full of cheese ?
They are spot on .....
Ps
Scott ran the standard slipper you all have, with the heavy duty pads of course ...

You copied it from Cav and that fast AE kid who beat them all at that indoor race a few months back.
Hey bud. Well, maybe. I wouldn't mine getting that or a TEN-SCTE. I'll have to think about it. I'd have to get rid of two of my other off-road cars to make room for it. I'm pretty happy with what I have right now though.
Not correct , said my "advice " ..

Recommended to use the set-up both Ryan & Cody use at the Spektrum race ...
Scott Pm Cody for me and this is how I got the info on the latest Ae set-up..
that fast kid you mention ?
He is my favorite , looking like a new star in the sport in fact ...
Mike Schoetler , pits next to me ....

Anyone running the center diff from www.RCshox.com. Pro's and con's?? What makes it better then the extra slipper pads. For 45 bucks, is it fail proof?
what type of ajustment can you make?
Thanks

Pros:
Gets rid of random rear end step-outs
Acceleration is smooth and straight
Cons:
A little less punch than the extra slipper pad setup
From what others have experienced it is fail proof as long as your spring isn't completely shot. There isn't much adjustment on it right now, but there is a V2 on the way with more adjustability in the bias department and Marcus says V1 will be easily upgraded to V2.
The jist: If you are on anything but a very high traction surface go for it since upgrading to V2 will be cheap and easy. If you are on a very high traction surface its a toss-up depending on your driving style. Once V2 comes out this should be a non-issue as well.

I would like to try a Sonic 550 can in my truck. I am thinking the 5.5 will be all thats needed. Does this sound correct? I would also like to stick with a LRP esc. What model do I need with a sonic 550? Thanks for the help.
