OK, I got my truck back together with new ider gears, clutch basket and the pro4 4600. WOW! Clearing the triple most every time now and those 32 pitch gears sound so badass. I was running my MMP in full sensored mode with "normal" timing (8* I think) and she was running too hot. I switched it to smartsense mode with the same timing and had about a 40 degree drop in temp. So, those with the MMP and sensored motor, which mode are you running your MMP in? I hear that smartsense is supposed to run more efficiently at high speeds. I think the 4600 is very controllable in this truck and faaaassssst. WHat is too hot for this motor? I think I'll add the yeah fan.

Default Diff question

Im building new diffs and need advice on 2 things.
1. Can anyone comment on adding a 5x11.5x0.2 washer on the diff cup help limit movement and leaking?
2. Top idler shaft has some in and out, is this normal?

When I ran a MMP I ran it in sensored mode so that I could use boost. Once you switched to "smart sense" you must not of been running boost anymore which is why your temps droped. To run "CHEAT" or "boost" you have to be in sensored mode so I dont see how you where running the same timing when you switched. You do not need 8* of boost with that Pro 4 motor though. How hot was your motor when you temped it before you switched to "smart sense"?

Looks cool, hoping the basket is not made out of plastic. Havin't had any slipper issues with My 6.5 550 Tekin, but that could all change with My new Sonic 4.5 550

Yes, this is a slipper clutch,,, the center diff is a,,,,, differential. And if AE's basket is plastic,,, I'll stick with my aluminum, heat dissipating, clutch basket.

so most likely when AE comes out with that nobody is really going to jump on that? it seems like the stuff here is better? Im going from basket to center diff as soon as it comes in(next week).

I wonder what would happen if i put the clutch basket on my t4?

The fan will work off of battery voltage, not all fans will, and will move the most air that way of course. I solder the leads right to the battery leads on the speed control post. Down side is I have to reach under the body to plug in the battery before the round starts. The up side is you can leave it plugged in while marshalling and you motor will be cooled off when your done.

You can plug it into the speedcontrol but with a transponder, glitch buster, servo and speed control I am out of plugs. Plus this would be just one more thing running off of your BEC. My servo is a hog as it is so that is not an option.

Not legal for National events yet, and I think not for regional events either.

maybe buy a very small switch and run it thru the positive wire on the fan so it wont be on while its plugged in????

i dont use dean plugs but direct so would i just solder it to the bullet connectors? i run saddle would i be able to use the bridge connector??
