im thinking about this motor to replace my castle 1410 3800kv.
I really love my 1410 but want a new motor as back-up.
I do not wish for a huge 550 or 4-pole that draws massive amps.

I like the specs of the 550-sl 4000kv

Max. Efficiency Current: 10 / 50A

Max. Surge Current: 60A

any thoughts? or experiance with these ?

I love to hear it.
I ran this motor for a while and it definatly is a great motor. It did everything I wanted it too and more. It doesnt studder either off the start. I changed it with a tekin rx8 and a sc4x 5.5 and didnt see much improvement but the tekin still has the far edge. Nun to less this is a great motor and is very durable and powerful with the right gearing and batteries. Dont expect Tekin Pro 4 power tho.

Very smooth. Zero cogging. Medium speed. Not the fastest, but fine if you can drive. in honesty, I was very impressed with the stock electronics. Let's not forget the battery makes quite a difference as well. The stock servo is ok. With a bec it is a tad better. Honestly, it depends on your driving ability.

Default My apologies sir!!!

First off let me apologize for the rude turd boy comment. I was out of character on that comment!!! As far as your mamba problem, Im sure I can lend a hand! First off, are running a external bec? Second did you disconnect the internal bec if you are running external bec. If not you can cook things over time and this will surely lead to malfuctions over time.

Default JConcepts Hazard Wheels

I just bought a pair of JConcepts Hazard wheels and noticed that their are hairline cracks at the inside hub. I Checked the 2nd pack and same thing. I took them back to the shop I bought them at to exchange and two other packs had the same hairline cracks. Are any of you having problems with these wheels and or noticed similar issues?

I just checked my hazards and yes they have lines in them too. Looks like moldlines in my opinion. Just pulled them out of the package.

OK I want to be judged hard on this run, give me honest opinions. Here is some practice laps on a large track with huge 1/8 scale jumps! I think the truck jumps well given the track conditions. Also wind was blowing 25 miles per hour constant. Here's the link http://youtu.be/vtia6gQFcUc

Just listen to slipper action.... It should slip for 2 to 3 feet in general. thats a good safe setting and you will get good wear out of the pads for general bashing/driving.

They are not mold lines. Those are definitely cracks on the inside hub.
I checked 4 sets of wheels and they all had them in different places around the inside hub. As much as I like these wheels, I hate to waster a new pair of tires if the hubs crack through.

Anyone have a problem with JC hazard wheels cracking at the hub when running?

The truck definatly jumps well. It seems like the track was slick or you where not running the right tires. I would say take the turns alot tighter and closer to the pipes. In a race, it would be easy to make a pass in the corners when you take them so wide. Other than that, practice practice practice!

For your application I wouldnt spend the money on the sway bar kit. The sway bars really are a tuning option for when racing. The other items you listed are worth the money.

thanks yes actually the truck only turns well to the right where the battery sets. Im running the stock battery placement which makes the truck right heavy and it only turns well one way. Ya the truck is jumping well do to mantisworks dual stage pistons and some schooling from you guys on here! sweet! Im not running saddle packs or any of that hightech set ups just looking to see the full potential of how it was designed to run from factory. Im going to run some weight to offset the heavy side which it needs. I just need to invest in 4 light scales to weigh the truck on.
