OK yours doesnt. My belt cover that the front tensioner is attached to flexes to the left and the pulley goes 'up' under belt/brake tension guiding the belt off it. My cover must be faulty and thats that.

OK got my 4x4, now just waiting on the rx8 and pro4 4k. Got a GREAT deal on the roller. Everything is like brand new. Only missing a couple of wheel and shock nuts but a quick trip to lhs all better. I changed the diff fluid, well what was left in them. 15k f/r 7k. Resealed the shocks, one was leaking. Removed the boots so I need to get some limiters. I plan on taking a full day at the track just getting the feel for the truck and tuning it for my driving style. mantis and coyote expect an order in the next couple of days for your goodies
. Been following this tread for awhile now and want to thank all those who have helped. It really help push me in the right direction for this purchase. Most everyone at my local track was telling me to get the losi(guess im just stuborn). Keep up the good work guys.

I only drove on pavement to get a baseline for braking power so I could dial down the brakes so the belt does not skip. Even when I adjust for the belt skipping it is too much brake power. At the track I had to adjust even lower to stay under control and not send the truck flipping over its nose.
You do not want to run full braking power on a high power 4x4.
When setup to race on the track you don't want to skid to a stop.
Think of it as ABS. You want a controlled stop.
My truck stops pretty damn fast even dialed down so as not to skip the belt.
I can launch off of a quad, backside the jump landing, and stop within a foot without skidding and keep the truck straight.
Any more braking power and I will send the truck over it's nose tumbling.

I understand that the Hazrd wheels are 3mm offset for a total of 6mm overall. I stated that the Blitz wheels have a 4.5mm offset (read more offset) and I heard that they fit the SC10 4x4. I was asking if anyone has tried these wheels and what they thought.
I have 2 brand new sets of JC Rulux Blitz wheels in the bag. Just have not mounted to try yet. This truck is radiculously narrow. I measured 288mm at the front from outside wheel to outside wheel (stock wheel/tires). The ROAR limit is 297mm. The Blitz wheel would put me closer to the 297mm limit and may help with traction rolling on high grip tracks.
I measured the front width with stock wheels/tires at 288mm. ROAR legal width is 297mm. The JC Hazard wheels have a 3mm offset and widen the extremely narrow stance of the SC10 4x4. I understand the Blitz wheels have a 4.5mm offset and will fit the SC10 4x4. Anyone running these and how do you like them?[/QUOT
Jconcepts hazard wheels are 3mm wider per side which gives you a total of 6mm. hazard wheels have the widest offset to my knowledge.

After the Pro4 race last night the guy that usually wins comes up to me and says, "Hey, once you buy a Losi you will be really good".
Grrrrrrr.......I am not giving up on this truck.
I was all over him in 2nd place until I traction rolled.
Track was tacky and I was over driving the truck.
Note to self....slower is faster.

Yesss. I thought I was the only one with the problem? I wonder how this happened? The other people that said they have had the belt come off under brakes earlier, this is how it happens:
If you take a look at the front pulley under brake/belt tension, it will flex upwards where it is mounted to the cover, resulting in the belt either coming off or riding hard on the outer edge/lip of the pulley until its damaged. Im looking at my own truck and can see it happenning. The solution Im thinking of so far is some kind of metal mount for the pulley like what the rear pulley is mounted so it wont flex.
To the people that want to call names and whatever, you are only embarressing yourselves. Have you taken the time to look at your truck under belt tension and see what Im talking about?

Eventually the high tension on the belt is pushing upwards causing the tensioner to flex. Remember the front tensioner is mounted to PLASTIC unlike the rear tensioner. So there will be some flex!!
Here is my proof:

Like I said in my previous post, it happened after a nasty lawn dart during a race which caused the lip of the pulleys to fail. Upon closer inspection I noticed that there was wear on the inside lip of the pulleys that eventually led to the failure of the part.
Like you said, a good fix would be to make a sturdy platform for the tensioner to mount on. And I agree.
Another fix could be setting the front pulley to the lowest hole position and middle to highest position on the rear. The slack could help prevent excessive rubbing on the front pulley yet still allow the belt to be fully wrapped arount the front pulley.
Belt tension is KEY.
With that said, Ive had my SC10 4x4 the very day it came out back in May. I regularly race and bash on a daily basis. The truck isnt perfect and understand when other owners go through the same struggles and or NEW ones.
