LRP x12 8.5 and if you are a wheeler 6.5. You said the best motor for the money and the LRP is definetly that!! They last FOREVER!!! These are some seriously proven motors!!!!! They have option heat sinks available as well for the front and rear bell ends which make them look Really cool!!

I've only been in RC for two years. and stumbled on the Trinity d3 8.5. run that in my buggy and run very well on the track..I'm buying the new Trinity monster 4x4 for my new s.c.. I'd say try Trinity!

On a side note.. today I sent back my 4th SXX V2. Don't know what the deal is, but I've had 2 SXX V2 TC Specs, and 2 SXX V2 Comps go bad. This latest one was purchased Dec 13. Since moved onto an Orion R10..Just as smooth as the SXX, but a whole lot better built.
My $.02
....edit Definitely thought this was the B4.1 thread. Just take everything I said, but go with a 6.5 in the wheeler. I personally run a 6.5 murfdogg in my b44.1 Great motor, but I probably like the Reedy Sonic or D3 better.

I used to run a Trinity D3 8.5 in my buggy with the SXX. One of the best combos, imo, you can run. Now I have a 7.5 Reedy Sonic and its just as good or better than the D3. They both run very cool, and produce power. I think the Reedy has a lot better design in terms of solder tabs, and sensor position, but I' stripped out a few of the motor mount holes on the can of the Reedy, which I never had a problem with on my Trinity..Both would be a great choice though. I've never tried a Viper mod motor before, but I know a lot of guys in my area run their stuff.

Best speedos you can buy I think. If it werent for the constant warranties I went through with the LRP, I would still have one in my buggy. When the TC Spec in my wheeler finally goes, I'll replace it with an Orion. Hopefully that's not for awhile though...Just got this one back from warranty.

Yes a guy at traction is running an orian with a reedy 7.5 I think, one of the fasted settups at the track and that think runs super fast and he says the speed control is super smooth. If I had the money for one I'd probably invest in it

Yeah, John Barrera runs the Orion with a 7.5 Sonic in the wheeler class.

I scored a B44 for a screaming deal and I'm in the process of kitting it out with electrics. I need a few pointers and possibly a critique....
Right now, as my skill level is ohhh about 15 years ago (Losi JRXT era) I am looking at a 13.5 turn brushless Trinity D3 motor, 2S Lipo with proper gearing and a Hobbywing 60A Xerun. That look like a viable combination of kit? This rigs main duty will be parking lots and motocross-ish areas, this buggie's raison d'être is to annoy fellow riders. Basher? Sort of, mainly to goad those guys with 1200 dollar titanium exhausts on their 2012 bikes by being quicker. I am a jerk.
I simply want easy power, little heat and dead simple interface. In other words assume my IQ is lower than the continuous amp rating on the ESC. I figure a 13.5 is sufficiently below the ESC's threshold for power needs and the HW will allow for a hotter motor if I feel the desire.
Also, any 2.4 Ghz receiver that stands out as a good performer for the cash outlay? I have a transmitter in hand (Traxxas....it was 10 bucks). I am a battery geek already, so I can handle that aspect just dandy.
Thanks
Dan
