So I stated building my new 44.1.

I by-passed the Diffs till I get ceramic bearings. I also had a couple of other questions.

-Skip the stock Cups and go with RPM?
-I see that the SC104x4 has a vented slipper, will this one work on the 44.1?

-And am i crazy or did I see someone offering a drilled Slipper PADs?

I bought some zippy saddle packs and they were from memory about the same height and they would fit under the top plate,The only thing was the battery post's weren't long enough so put some washers under the post's,i had to cut the washers to make the front part of the washer square where the lipo sits in

1. Not necessary, but depends on who you ask.
2. To my knowledge it will not fit however if you want something different try the new Avid Triad slipper. will be released this week. you only need to add a couple axle shims for proper fitment.
3. There are drilled slipper plates, in my experience i prefer the standard ones, could never get a consistent slipper with the drilled ones.

I ordered RPM and JCO ones. We'll see. If nothing else, one will end up as spares in the Pit Box.

I figured I would stay with the Stock slipper, but wondered about pads. I also thought about consistency too. Good to know. Might be worth building a spare center diff.
Also, with the new JCO Silent Speed Spurs, has anyone tried them? debating on ordering one to try in my 44.1 and 4.1.

Figuring on an 8.5. Our indoor track is pretty small, I had been using a 10.5.

Does the rear ballast weight go in place of the carbon piece for the battery brace? The one in the center rear?

Yes, depending on the type of battery you choose you may want to cut some of the lead off of it. With the Reedy saddle (#627 i believe) I am running roughly 50g, i think its near 80g std.

I have tried the JC spur and its not worth the money IMO. I run the stock spur. The weight does go in place of the carbon spacer, I don't run the weight indoors with my set up though. I plan to run the stock slipper at first but when I replace the pads I am going to run the Avid to give it a try.

Instead of the JCon Silent Spur, spend the same amount of money and get a fresh AE spur and match it up with a Robinson aluminum Silencer pinion. Combo is real quiet. I've had a couple JCon spurs, and it won't matter much if your pinion is old / worn.

Yea, I wasn't sure about the JCO spur. It's so funny how certain parts are worth the upgrade and others aren't. With everyone Gaga over the avid rack for the B4 and hearing JCO has one coming out, I'm never sure how much of the upgrade suggestions are hype or function.

Going thru my spares, I found a couple parts from my bj4 worlds and wondered if I should run the carbon steering rack over the plastic stock one? For high traction tracks esp, but also given the currenti setups, does anyone see a reason to get any other rear hubs for the 44.1 other than 0? I considered getting the 1 degree but wasn't sure how it would compare.

Kinda dumb, but on the arms there are 1 and 2 molded in but no explanation of what they mean, guessing R vs L. Book didn't really clarify. So far a fun build. Its been awhile since I have built an entire kit.

I would stick with the 0 degree hubs. As far as the numbers in the arms, the fronts are interchangeable...most likely that is the mold # they came out of. The rears are left or right.

Hype is something that is promoted by everyone with that companies name in their signature and no one else pushing it. Function is promoted by people that have nothing to do with the company (but sometimes still have the company in their signature, we list all our team on the website so a consumer that wants to know if a review is legit and unbiased). Also you will not see top level pros running hyped products. They either work or they don't. I totally hear you on your thoughts, it is very tough to sift through our internet world these days to find out who is on the pay roll and who isn't. These are the times we live in.

On another note, we have the instructions for the B44.1 Triad Slipper up on the site now since they are not included in the kit.

Default first run~

got my first runs tonight, LOVED it!!! aside from needing a gear change only other issue was chassis slap at tops of the jumps. i would assume try going heavier on shock oil? i dont have any optional springs and LHS doesnt carry any...
