What's the conventional wisdom on inserts for the front tires? I just got a set of fronts(proline), and the open cell foams are full size rears? Do you guys seriously stuff all that into a front tire? If you trim, how narrow do you trim it? What's the go-to front and rear closed cell insert preference for 4wd these days?

If your track is bumpy or lower in grip you would probaby be better off with open cell.
For open cell foam, I stuff a full rear LOSI foam in 4wd fronts. I think the Proline foams were huge though, so you may need to trim some off.
I like the Proline closed cell better than the AKA closed cell. The AKA went dead before the tire was used up. The Prolines broke in nice and lasted longer.
Oh, a taper pin type front tire seems to like open cell foams over closed cell while bar type tires seemed to get along better with closed cell.
Hopefully this gives you a little more info that you can use to make your decision.

They could replace the plate chassis with a molded chassis right now. Don't think SC10 4x4. That's WAY too complex. Think more along the lines of melding the CF plate chassis with the undertray and molding it out of the same material as the B4.1 and SC10 2wd. You would keep the CF top plates and everything else (bulkheads etc..) would stay the same.

Nice shock setup.
I am currently running AE shocks frt-35wt & Losi BB green / rr- 30wt & Losi BB yellows. I just picked up a set of Kyosho BB shocks. What shock oil wt and springs are most people running? I run mainly on a good sized indoor clay high bite track.

try kyosho BB white front and red rear. good stuff. get a set of whites for the rear too just in case.

The bb springs make it much easier to wheel thats for sure

i can only imagine the 40 $ kyosho

Are you running Velvets or V2's? What pistons are you running? I'm going to start with 3b pistons all the way around and then try the 2b and 2c pistons to see what works best. I have 3 sets of shocks all setup with different pistons so swapping during the same night is pretty easy.

How do I tighten down my slipper while it is installed on the car? It appears to have a slot to hold the slipper nut in one location while you spin the gear but I am not really sure which direction to spin it or if I need to loosen the motor first etc.
