Sounds a bit high, even for 8.5

Safer bet to start with 19 on an 81 and be sure to check temps after only 5 minutes.

I run 19/81 on a Ready 6.5T for about 10 to 12 minutes during practice and my motor only gets up to about 140 or so.

that's about right,i am 22/81 with a 7.5 but the track is a 1/8 size 150+ straight

I just took mine for its first run also an 8.5 , 15 81 way undetgeared . plan on boosting it but my lappy's down at the moment so i Will throw gearing at it . ran well though .

For you guys running outdoors on a bumpy rough track, are you running the weight ballast, and are you running the front shocks mounted to the inner hole on the a arms?

I am running the same motor in mine with no boost and i am at 19/81 and temp runs around 145ish after a 8 min A main and i am running with the bottom cover also.

I went out with 81/23 ,it was abit to hot , dropped down to 81/21 after 6 & half mins come off at 148, that's with no boost aswell.
